Generally I can get G3f hair to load on G8f without much trouble. However, the pose features dont work. I don't see any kind of scripted hair "converter." Does anybody know a way to get the G3f hair to work better on G8f?

Autofit removes bones that are used for posing. G3 and G8 are basically the same mesh, so the easiest thing to do is to change the scene identification of the hair to G8F and then fit it.
RiverSoftArts and SickleYield have a series of converter products for using hair, clothing, etc. between generations. Here’s the one for converting G3F hair to G8F: https://www.daz3d.com/hair-converter-from-genesis-3-female-to-genesis-8-female
I don’t own any of these converters, but I heard they essentially work the same way, by changing scene identification, just batch converting. Whether the converter is worth it to you will depend on how many products you need to convert, and your tolerance for a lot of fiddling.
Awesome, Gordig. However, now, I don't really know how to change the scene identification of the hair. Where would I do that?
Load the hair into the scene, making sure NOT to autofit it. Click the “hamburger” icon in the Scene tab, then go to Edit - Change Scene Identification. At the botto, change “preferred base” from G3F to G8F. Afterwards, you can “fit to” the G8F character natively, without the Autofit dialogue popping up.
I’m telling you all this from memory, so some of the terminology may not be correct, but hopefully you can figure it out from here. There are plenty of tutorials on the forums and online if you’re still having trouble.
You can also just load the hair without fitting it to the character and then manually parent it to G8's head. You can manually scale it to fit a little better depending on shape.
AHA - Gordig, worked like a charm. Thanks a million!
Gordig's suggestion is best, for G3 at least; earlier generations changing the scene identification won't help, but parenting as Mattymanx suggests will work - with some tweaking
Load the G3F hair onto the scene without anything selected, then change the hair's Scene Identification to Genesis 8 Female.
Edit: Oops, looks like Gordig beat me to it. :)
