Create New Character From Morphs Question

Hello everyone,

How can i save a figure that i applied a variety of morphs on as a new base character? What i mean is this: I load Victoria 8, i apply about 30 different morphs. Now i want to save this character in a way so that if i load the figure, it has the shape i created with the morphs BUT the sliders are all zero. So essentially like all the characters i can buy on DAZ, they have different shapes but only one Dial to apply its shape  (Like the Victoria 8 Body and Head sliders). How do i do that?

Thanks

Oh and i have a follow up question. Say i created this new character by applying morphs to Victoria 8. Can i create a single Morph/Shape-Slider so that i can apply this shape (the altered Vicotira 8 Shape) to the Genesis 8 Base Figure. So that i dont have to load Victoria 8 first and then apply the slider but do that with the Genesis Base Figure? I hope you know what i mean. Thanks

You can create a "master dial" corresponding to your character, which would apply the needed morphs automatically (including V8, so it would be usable on the base G8F). That's what content creators usually do when their characters use several morphs.

There are instructions on how to do this in this thread: https://www.daz3d.com/forums/discussion/333741/how-to-make-a-single-dial-from-a-mixture-of-morphs-which-then-available-as-an-asset

You can't have all sldiers zero, and characters from te store don't. You can ether save a shaping preset to apply the sliders directly (File>Save As>Shaping Preset) to a base Genesis 8 Female (which will take care of applying Victria 8 as well as your later adjustments) or you can indeed create a single master slider.

To create a master sldier start with your character applied and the figure otherwise zeroed (no pose or expression, things like navel off usually). Right-click the Parameters pane and put it in Edit Mode if it isn't. Right-clck in the property group you want to use and Create New Property - give it a name and label, set the slider colours in the presentation section if desired, probably set the Min value to 0, and click the Create button. Set the value to 100% (the default stays at 0 or every time you load a figure it will have thiss hape applied). Right-click on the slider>ERC Freeze, make sure that the list in Sub-components desn't have any interlopers, and click Accept. Optionally File>Save As>Support Assets>Morph Asset and save your morph - make sure you kow which content directory it goers in (listed at the top of the options dialogue), the folder used will be /data/Daz 3d/Genesis 8/female/morphs/author/product/ - using the author and product names you enter in the dialogue - which you will want to back up so you don't lose the file to drive issues or the like.

Thanks everyone, i tried making a master slider and it worked fine. So i take it that most content creators edit the base of their figure in ZBrush and then apply additional morphs in DAZ studio? Is changing the geometry in ZBrush not the same as changing the geometry with morphs? Are morphs actually altering the geometry? Thanks

No character will mdify the underlaying shape, they are all morphs (on top of morphs, in many cases). Yes, most character crators will sculpt a new shape, then import thata s a morph (though GoZ or Morph Loader Pro) - subrtacting the effect of any morphs applied to the figure as they do so, capturing only their own changes and then they will create a slider or just use a preset to apply the result to the base figure.
