Decals don't work on Centaur body?

I love decals and I wish they worked across more surfaces, like shells. They're very versatile and allow a lot of creativity to achieve effects.
In creating a scene today, one of the first I've done with the Female Centaur 8 product, I discovered that decals (specifically working with the Kindred Arts GrungeWorx decals) cause rendering to fail when parented to the Centaur Body. The centaur body doesn't seem to be a geoshell though, but a geograft?

What do you mean when you say "Fail"?
I just did a couple quickie tests with decals applied to the centaur body, by itself, and didn't have any issue.
I ran into this problem myself a while back while working on this scene. The problem is that the centaur uses a geoshell to mask the transition from human to horse, and that seems to interfere with decals. I got around that by disabling the geoshell and rendering the whole scene, then spot-rendering the transition with the geoshell re-enabled. If there’s a better way to accomplish this, I’d be interested to hear it.
oh jeez, that would explain it. I noticed it had a geoshell as well but separate from the main body. Thanks for the advice, I'll do exactly as you suggest.
