Multiple Graphics cards

Hi,

I've just started playing with Studio after a very long time and have rememberd that I have a couple of spare graphics cards lying around. Would it be of benefit to plug those in too? My primary is a RTX 2050, the others are a GTX 1060 and a GTX970.

Thanks

    There is no 2050.

iRay will use every supported GPU, Nvidia GPU's made in the last 6 years or so.

As long as the scene fitted into the card's memory DS would use it, but I don't know how much memory those models have - I suspect they'd often drop out (especially as non-RTX cards now use more memory), leaving only the 2050 (as long as it didn't also run out of memory).

  • Sorry its a 2060 super. So should I plug in all 3? What sort of a performance increase could I expect?

I can remember using a Quadro P2000 for OpenGL visualization and GTX 1060 for rendering,

when I (was (more)poor(than now)) even used Intel Graphics for viewing and GTX for DS, it works!

On very small scenes, 970 only has 4Gb of VRAM and some 1060's only have 3Gb, it would be somewhere between 25 and 50% faster.
