need help with a file that won't open ...

This one is more tricky than my usual cries for help. About a year or two ago, I started a scene for a client. I had to have surgery, so I canceled the contract. However, I didn't want to lose what I did up to that point, thinking it may be a good starter scene for another client. I was right ... I recently shared an early render draft with a client thinking the setting would be ideal for his scene with some key changes in characters and props ... so half-way done from the start. Right? Wrong!

I went to open the old files (four consecutive saves because I'm used to daz files corrupting during saves) ... this was before I bought content gatherer. This error pops up for each of the four files.

I understand how to fix it if I moved elements in the scene. In this case, I had moved the entire folder the scenes are in to the new client's folder. Is that what the problem is? Should I simply rename this folder to match the file name in the error message?

Wild guess, the name and the entire path is way too long. I would suggest finding the file manually and renaming it something much shorter in length.

Super long names can also cause problems for 7zip, winzip, saving files to certain locations and also for the trash bin.

I have a feeling you are right ... so I made a copy of all four scene saves and pasted to a folder on the desktop ... so far, far had pulled up a list of what it can't fin, most of which I can tell it to skip ... the important part is, it recognized the environment which I couldn't remember the name of and it's re-installing the product and it's required base-product, which is what is important. Thanks for the assist, Catherine :)

LOL I thought a scene file should just be a title not a synopsis laugh
