Exchange Rates making DAZ content too expensive

I live in South Africa, and the poor performance of our currency has made content too expensive to buy. Where I could have bought a $31.47 base character for around R440.00 at the beginning of the year, it's now going to cost me around R591.00. Anyone else in other countries have the same problem?

I'm pretty sure Australia is having a hard time here at the store too. With the current goings-on in the world, I wouldn't expect the situation to improve any time soon :(

There is also a large impact in Canada.

It's due to the US currency being bizarrely high, despite being more affected by certain events than other places.

It will probably normalize eventually. Until then it's fast grab only for lots of the world.

(to be honest I never really buy anything for less than 60% off anyway)

Exchange rates affect everyone at some time or another. Back in 2006-2008, the Dollar/Euro rate was unbelievable - like $1.55> 1 Euro. My monthly income from the products I sold at DAZ dropped like a stone. Now it's around $1.08> 1 Euro, so a lot better.

Anyway, I just wanted to say that I sympathise, but it also works both ways. PAs have to hope for a good exchange rate too, or they suffer financially.

Same here in India. The rupee has dropped around 10% in just the Q4 of last year. Hopefully things may change once the exports pick up.

dollar GBP has sucked for a while now, although nowhere near what you guys have to contend with, and it is very slightly better than the worst it's been.

Here in argentina we do also have the same problem. And on top of bad currency exchange that only gets worst we had and extra non refundable 30% tax if we buy dollars for savings or do intenational purchases.

Some really big companies, like for example Blizzard or Spotify, offer special prices in argentina(and othe countries) that are sometimes way below the US price with current exchange.

Unfortunately, i don't think DAZ market is that big to justify implementing something like that.

I bought a giftcard 1 week ago and Euro exchange rate is bad but has has not been any good throughout the last year so I didn't notice much.

South Africa's economy has been downgraded to 'junk status' now by all the major credit ratings firms. They predict we can be back to where we were in about a year, year and a half's time.

Post corona it will become worse for many months because dollar will recover faster than any currency, it is not prediction but mathmatical calculation.

Here in Oz the exchange rate makes prices for US stuff quite high - but as a PA it works in my favour going the other way (and I really need the money right now).

yeah the same here in BRAZIL at the start of the year the exchange rates where like 1 dolar = 3.60 Reais(my country currence), then it started to go high fast from middle january to middle near end of february going to up 4,60, now with the "corona" it's around 5,30 and 5,60 making almost impossible buy anything above let's say 20 or worst case 30 buckets (1120 to 170 reais in exchanges) thats goes without count my country taxes for "non local currence which is something like 0.5% extra which while can looks small, on big purchases can make it go a little more high due to the current exchange, that is i would love if daz could try to find a way to work with "local currence" again like others stores are doing, like gog, steam, udemy, epic stores, if daz could find a way to add "local currence" for many countries as they can and keep "price reasonable not just convert and keep converting everytime the US currence goes high, i belive it could make daz sell much more and have more "stable" sales because the peoples buying it would not need to worry if US currence is high or low.

i really have a lot of stuff i'm would really love to buy now, but currently is "impossible" for me with the us currence skyrocket and the pandemy stuff making me have to not "expend" money and i'm still recovering the the last year december big sales where i had go wild and have bought many stuffs as i could ending leading me to pay in installments all the money I spent which was like 300 or something like that which for my country currence conversion was really huge like 1.000+ reais (which let's say if US currence was on the same value as REAL it would means like paying 1.000+ US not 300 it on that time now with the skill rocket currence it would be like paying 1.600+)

i really love daz and would love to go to my back time where i could easy pay 100 up to 200( and some rare cases going 300) US on daz stuffs but now even after the pandemy ending it still basically impossible even if the US currence fall back "a little" going back to the 4,60... near it, still to high to expending 100+ per month for me now than it was in the past.

The EURO seems to be still quite stable, but I wonder why the Dollar is so high. Look at the depts the US has. That's somehow not reasonable.

    It is surprising.

I keep a lookout for exceptionally good gift card rates. They are pretty rare, but I mostly take advantage when they do come along; I didn't on the last one as had taken advantage twice previously and had a healthy balance.

... And as the mantra goes, "There is always another sale."

The US dollar has always been a safe haven in times of uncertainty. So there is lots of demand for it. At least thats what I remember from my economic classes.
