Partial Animation ???

I was interested in finding a way to apply partial poses and I found just the ifo I needed. outlined in the quote below. But, I am still curious if it is possible to use this or a simular method to apply an animation to just one node and it's children like an arm for example.

Posted : Lets say that you want to apply pose just to the right arm of the G8F.

1. In the scene tab select right collar node as an "starting point".

2. Press and hold CTRL key (or CMD on Mac) and double click the pose.

3. Pose Preset Load Option menu will appear (no need to hold CTRL/CMD any more). Set the options:

Nodes: Selected

Propagation: Recursive (it means that pose will apply to the right collar node (starting point; selected node) and all of its children nodes (all nodes on the right arm)).

4. Click "Accept" and thats it, you have applyed a pose just to the right arm.

Yes, that would work as with  single-frame pose (indeed, the quote doesn't assume it is a single-frame pose).

I tried it myself Richard, but my results were not successful. I simple placed a G8 figure in the scene selected the Right Collar held down the control key nd the clickrd on the animation I wanted to aplly from my Content Library. The dialogue came up asking for options to the pose I clicked just for selected and recursive and apply. I got the dialogue about adding more frames to the scene. Then my figure had the the full animation to all nodes applied. So my process was completely ignored and the animation was applied as if I did nothing. What did I do wrong here?

I stand corrected Richard, I guess I had root selected the first time I tried it but I tried again and it did indeed only apply to one node and it's children. Thank you again for the help.
