Tips New Users Might Not Know About

1. Use Camera To Render

  • Create -> New Camera
  • Switch from Perspective View to the newly Created camera.
  • Select the new camera and under it's properties, turn off a setting called Headlamp. Otherwise your renders will look like its lit with a flashlight.
  • Everytime you reposition your camera, reset the focal distance of the camera in the properties. Or you can manually adjust the focal distance so that it always focuses with the render object. If you enable depth of field, focal distance will be critical to keep things in focus.
  • Always render using a camera, not perspective view. Rendering from perspective view will give you poor results.

2. Speed Up Viewport Performance

  • If you have a decent GPU, setting the Display Optimization to Best dramatically improves the performance in the viewport.
  • Edit -> Preferences -> Interface -> Display Optimization: Best
  • Click Apply

3. Render Settings

  • Render Settings Tab -> Advanced Tab
  • Enable OptixPrime Acceleration
  • Disable CPU
  • Leave your video card enabled.
  • Not suggesting this is the best for ALL computers, but many of you may find this will work best.
