Non Linear Animation in DAZ Studio
in The Commons
I think I have the right name for it. What I am reffering to is introducing a secondary animation of one part of a charcter to an existing animation sequence, such as adding an arm wave of one arm of a character that is already being animated in a simple walk cycle. I know that AniMate had a function that allowed excluding certain nodes or over riding those nodes for a set numer of frames, but it only works through the G2 figure. Does anybody know if there any updates to allow it to work on G3 or G8 figures, or if there are any work arounds to get this to work on G3 or G8?

"animation layers"

Heyyy.......PDR!!!
Thank goodness for you and Ivy, Been hard to get advice around here lately. Ok, so I was aware of layering.........some what. I have found that adding a high heel pose to a sub track works better than the high heel button in AniMate, but the high heels is for the duration of the animation. I am curious about creating several short utility aniblocks like bending over to pick something up or opening a jacket and pulling over to the hip while walking (Fashion runway style) and of course waving and such. The short aniblocks may be introduced anywhere along the time line, so how does layering handle over riding nodes. For example placing a wave aniblock in the middle of animation effects the arm positions from the very beggining.

Would you happen to know what the Mask Start option is in the create an AniBlock drop down is?
I don't really use it ... I use other programs to animate
When you click on a subtrack there are supposed to be options for override modes and which affected nodes. But some nodes of the "part list" on the tracks when using G3, G8 seem to be inactive or grayed out, so you cannot control it properly. I doubt it will ever be fixed or updated.
Hi kwannie
Please PRIVATE MESSAGE ME I'll be happy to walk you through on stack layering aniblocks on the animate2 timeline & how to work with non-linear tracks on the daz timeline. With the experience I have been having lately here in the daz.forums ,I'm afraid that anything i would write I can assume will be deemed as NOT PC enough or offensive to others and will be removed. I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
