Help needed with transferring a G8 character to G3

I used Redz tutorial: G3F to G8F Manual morph Transfer with a helper scene to transfer my Lara from G8 to G3, I made it in reverse: when it said G3 I used G8 and so on. I asked if there were a version of that tutorial from G8 to G3 but I didn't get any replies so I tried the one I had in reverse. I got an error first so I set the resolution to base and the subdivision to 0 to both figures and then it worked, but the arms are buggy as you can see here below. I can't use her for anything else than a head closeup portrait without using a really bulky jacket or something. Please is there anyone who can help me with this? I asked the same in a thread at the Daz Studio Discussion section yesterday but I havent got a single reply. I'm beginning to feel really invisible here
, surely there are someone here with experience of tranferring G8 characters to G3 who can help me out. There is a product in the store now that does this transfer: https://www.daz3d.com/character-converter-from-genesis-8-female-to-genesis-3-female, is there anyone with experience using this who knows if this kind of cartoony model can be transfered successfully without the weird arm/shoulder problem?

Before you buy the product, I would suggest to to be prepared with a list of your characters with extreme morphs and custom JCMs. As you mentioned, good candidates in that list would be the cartoon and fantasy characters or anything that deviates significantly from the default outline/silhouette with unnaturally sized eyes and facial expressions being areas to watch out for. That said, the product does provide two options for chacter conversion (an old method and a newer one). The documentation is a bit vague on which one to go for preferring the newer one over the older. There's also a tolerance slider to better accomodate morph displacements.
Daz does have a 30-day money back period so be prepared to use that time judiciously to evaluate the product. If you face any issues there's a dedicated commerical thread for supporting its users.
Thanks for the reply!
I'm glad that there's a 30 day money back period, I'll be sure to test it before then when I buy it. I would love to hear from someone with experience using that product converting cartoonish characters. The most imortant characters for me to convert are my Lara models and they are all cartoonish with big eyes so chances are that there will be troubble. Can that product be used to convert head and body morphs too and not just characters? this Lara above was made using some cartoon morphs that aren't available for G3. BTW what is custom JCMs?
It can retain head and body morphs in the converted character. Also the script supports a method to convert a G8F character in an existing scene to G3F character but there are a few kinks that can be handled manually.
Custom JCMs are additional control morphs that the vendors add to support realistic deformations for odd sized character/parts such as Swole, George or in case of fantasy characters.
You can get in touch directly with the vendor in their commercial thread I mentioned earlier. Also it is likely that similar users are subscribed to that thread and would get pinged if you bring it up there.
Thanks for the reply!
Actually, all you might need to do is adjust rigging to shape. That should be done in the default pose for that Genesis model, so if you are doing Genesis 3, it needs to be the T pose, not the A pose. Try doing this before doing anything else, it may be all you need!
In case you need it: scene tab, with G3 selected in T pose, edit>rigging>adjust rigging to shape
If you adjust rigging to shape when not in the default pose, it can throw things off. So if you did do it but were still in the A pose that Genesis 8 uses, that might be what went wrong.
I have the G3 to G8 converter so I can tell that experience. I tried on the Toon Generations and the Little Ones. All have large heads. I tried many settings, but always had trouble around eyes, so I hade to make it manually. But with ZBrush it was "easy" and at least the converter did the job with ERC settings. When I converted manually my males ( I have no male converter), it was very slow and boring to set the ERC. So I think it is a good product and help even if with huge eyes it can be problem. But there were some other characters where are only large eyes and the converted character was perfect. So Ms. Croft will be safe :).
Thanks for the reply
, I'm sorry for my very late reply, I did try with adjust rigging to shape but the bug is still there. And I think it was in the correct pose.
Thanks for the reply!
I bought the converter and tested a while ago and the results was a slightly better conversion but there is still that bug with the shoulders, only a bit less. I guess it's hard when it comes to cartoony characters.
