As long as you don't leave your residence or place your living and go out into crowded public areas you won't have much need for a M95 mask. which is truly the only mask The WHO & CDC verified to work blocking pathogens & bio contaminants for this disease the rest of the mask like the tie back surgical & home sewn cloth mask are recommended for people who are sick with this disease to wear them to keep them from breathing or coughing into the public space to spread the decease . if its not M95 I would be leery of trusting my life on it. That is one of the biggest issues with Mask is that people are not using the right mask for the proper reason. plus are not staying home like they are told too.
could swear i've seen some article or pic about that. in germany, or japan.. ? been done already. now depending on the cup it might work or less...
Have you seen the jockstrap mask?
it all could work though
because
if I saw people wearing such weird paraphernalia I would keep my distance
I believe in I Am Legend, the movie at least, it was a cure for cancer that caused people to turn into...well, whatever it was they turned into. I haven't read the book, but as I understand it, the movie is pretty much nothing like it.
yup lol.. might even be the same series of pics ^^ - do they specify if you're supoosed to wear it normally first? >_<
never seen the underwear hero - or whatever this japanese flick was called...? XD
I just managed to get to the disclaimer before I had to leave that video

And I'm glad that the local small supermarket is still open - and just a five minute walk at slow pace away - and supplied, as I have personal based reasons - which I will not explain here, as that would lead to get this post deleted, I guess - to never ever again buy anything at Amazon.
It is the third feature-film adaptation of Richard Matheson's 1954 novel I Am Legend, following 1964's The Last Man on Earth and 1971's The Omega Man.
........................................................................................................
I've seen all three. Life imitates art, don't we say?
That would be a bad combination wouldn't it
Or the pads that they put in some bras
... Well, you can't be TOOOO bad, Miss Bad Wolf.... most bad wolves are stealing picnic baskets, eating old bed-ridden grandmothers. , trying to eat little granddaughters, brealing into the 3 bears house..... oh, sorry, that's Goldilox..... you know, she is running from the police, for break and entry, vandalism, destruction of property..... and she got Baby Bear drinking whisky.
as per
But for men wouldn't you need to use a bro?
And to think they once burned them... who knew...
...but wouldn't Isopropyl alcohol be less expensive by volume? Even cheap Bourbon or Vodka is something like 12 -14$ for a fifth.
...hmm that reminds me less than half a of Irish whiskey left. Boozateria is across the street but not sure if they are open..
...mmmmm, both tasty, but sadly am on a pensioner's budget these days.
Would I look weird if I borrowed my hubby's pick-me-upper to place groceries in a shopping cart?
While we are on the topic of movies, if anyone is needing a laugh, Drunk Parents with Alex Baldwin and Salma Hayek is ridiculously funny.
..well have to do a market trip again tomorrow morning. Kind of like the early morning reserved time for older folks. No crowds so it is easy to maintain distance and shelves freshly stocked for the day (as best as they can be). I'd hate to be in there later when it is more busy particularly as they have indications on the floor of where to stand to maintain spacing for waiting in line to check out. I can imagine the checkout lines extending back into the aisles to maintain separation as the market is rather small compared to most Safeways in town. ,
" relax loosen your corset have a drink, "
I seen it was on Showtime. But i have not watched it yet. I will now you mentioned it
It's the exact opposite here during "senior hour". I know a few folks who had tried it and said they'd never do it again. Apparently people were literally smashing at each other with carriages to get into the store. No thank you. My mom went to Wal-Mart on Tuesday this week around midday and she said the store was pretty good. The only problem is people not observing the distance spots on the floor while in line.
Yeah, the W-mart that shall not be named sometimes has a liter of 91% isopropanol (the good stuff!) for less than $2. The 70% was cheaper than that. Sadly, I have not seen any since this started. Fortunately we keep a supply in the house for cleaning. People even bought up all the Witch Hazel solution, but that is only 14% alcohol.
Toddled up to the post office and our tiny town's little grocery store again. It's been a week, 8 days actually because of the craziness that happened here yesterday. Oy. Picked up the last of my Amazon orders for a while. They've announced that they are postponing delivery of PC parts to concentrate on necessities (and some of their staff are walking out). Grocery store was pretty much the same except for bread and TP and Kleenex and paper towels. Lots of meat, vegetables, fruits, canned goods. The papergoods were not out, just low, and the bread was very sparse, just loaves of Italian bread, hamburger rolls, and that godawful nutritionless almost-nothing-there, super long, thinly sliced, white bread, and some half loaves of heavy rye bread. Not finding my wonderful favorite sweet, moist, thickly sliced, dark, whole wheat, "Dutch Country" bread I gave up and got the rye. I cannot abide white bread. (*blah*) I need flavor and body in my bread. Would have done without if they didn't have the rye.
While at the grocery store I had my 15 minutes of fame because of the craziness yesterday. People actually knew who I was and that I lived in the other apartment in the house where the craziness was centered. I got to tell my story a couple of times. The best part was when I got to say the line "I felt safe where I was and I didn't want to leave my apartment but decided it was best not to argue with the SWAT team".
Beligerent neighbor finally gave up and surrendered quietly after a 5 hour standoff with nobody hurt. I was able to return home about 10:00 last night. The incident is being blamed on being cooped up with his family for two weeks. Glad I live alone.
Speaking of bra cups made into filter masks:
Back when I was a kid (a long time ago in a previous millenium), I was working with finely powdered aluminum and charcoal in my home lab for a while (I was trying to make display fireworks, but Dad put an end to it after an experiment blew a small smoking crater in our yard, and rattled the windows of nearby houses). My folks were concerned about getting the dust into my lungs (along with the blowing myself to tiny bits part), and filter masks were not easy to find. My Mom made me a mask out of a old bra cup and some elastic. There was some wire in the cup, so you could mold it to your face. Worked pretty well, no coughing from the dust! Man, I had not thought of that in 40 years at least.
Anyway, the principle is sound, as long as the material is not too thick. The shape is good for sealing around the nose and mouth. The powders I was working with were in the 20-40 micron range (325-600 mesh), in the same range as the virus-carrying droplets. Under magnification, you could see the carbon and aluminum dust caught in the fibers.
Everclear is 190 proof (95%ABV).. The reason I bought it is I haven't seen any rubbing or Isopropyl alcohol in 3 weeks at the store. While you can technically drink Everclear, it is usually used to add to other things to up the proof or make things like "Trashcan Punch". Think legal version of really strong moonshine.
I have read the book and the only movie that comes close to the book is The Last Man On Earth with Vincent Price. The Omega Man and I am Legend really don't follow the book much.
If I could have found any Isopropyl or rubbing alcohol, I would have bought some.
still rolling my eyes a bit at the logic of what is allowed and forbidden
cannot sit in a park or on a beach by yourself
can send spit in the mail for DNA tests
what is really crazy to me is when our state gave a stay at home enforcement orders starting 4/1 to 5/31. for people not to go out. . But then when watching the traffic traveling on the highway from the top our mountain it appears there more traffic now than there was before the lock down orders were made. I guess that shows how some humans can be defiant creatures. I read in the paper that in 32 states in the USA the police were going to give 1 warning and then start enforcing the orders with tickets or fines & or in some cases arrested which would put you in quarantined with other people not complying with stay at home orders wheather you had covid-19 or not. In our state of Tennessee you have to call the police and tell them why you have to leave your home and give them your car ID tags and your name and they would issue you a travel pass. Some companies are giving travel passes to their employee's as well .. its scary & confusing times
Here in the UK there was a £660 fine for a repeat offender, reported yesterday. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-york-north-yorkshire-52121216
That would hurt.

Richard.
