Some shortcuts dont work OSX

Im quite new to Daz3d and into looking main workflow. I watched some tuts to get going and bumped into an issue. Im trying to activate the symmetry many using Shift + Y, the menu doesnt show, However when i use the command without any selection it does give me the warning it needs an active bone. When i select a bone and use the command i also see the menu highlight blue, this means a shortcut is being pressed. THe menu wont popup. Ive tried importing default actions, no luck?!

Im using v4.12 on OSX
