Converting Genesis 8 to Prop Answered

I tried using Edit>Figure>Rigging>Convert Figure to Prop during a multi-figure session, but after two unsuccessful tries, I decided to ask for help since the existing documentation I could find is not addressing my issues.
The first time I tried, I got just the G8M head and his parented headwear. I had clothes parented as well, but the bones of the body were set to invisible. I hypothesised that bone invisibility was the culprit and tried again. The next time, I got a naked G8M and his parented headwear. Since the resulting G8M was now a posed prop, there was no option to reload his clothes (they had been deleted) and refit them. Each of these attempts took over 90 minutes.
Since the headwear was parented to the head bone and it didn't disappear, should I parent the clothes to the hip bone so they will remain? Does anyone have any experience with this to help me? Thanks for your time.

do any conformed stuff first and don't have any of it parented
@WendyLuvsCatz For my clarity, are you saying that the conformed stuff (clothes) should be converted to prop separately? I was thinking that I could somehow get one fully clothed figure.
yes do it first
othewise it has nothing to conform to so will delete itself if parented as well as unconform
I found this out with genesis 1 already
smart props too need to be unparented in place
any swords in hilts etc
@WendyLuvsCatz Thank you so much!
