i see a lot of grunge, dirt, fluids, and all that for characters, but that nice clean hair or beard takes away form the effect. Has anyone seen some really nasty hair at all?
Would it be possible to create some utilizing an existing product with existing grundge products ?

The built in strand based hair is pretty good at creating messy clumpy hair if you play with the settings.
Not quiet grunge but not pretty: https://www.daz3d.com/nightmare-hair-for-genesis-3-female-s-and-male-s and https://www.daz3d.com/mathius-hair-for-genesis-3-male-s.
I think this shader set affects hair: https://www.daz3d.com/a-touch-of-dirt-for-iray
You could try a geoshell on the hair and then apply available grungy textures. That's what I did here, although I was after soapy, rather than grungy. Linday's wet hair assets work pretty well for this. What can also work is applying a dForce modifier to regular hair products and just let it work just long enough for a slight droop, since dirty hair isn't usually fluffy.
There's also this product, which uses geoshells:

Kool's Willis hair has a very untidy, straggly look to it. Grunge shaders could take it farther.
