Reducing Light of the Umbrella

Hi! I wanna make a Photo, where a girls jumps in water with her umbrella, but ... the umbrella acts like its a light source.

I did turned the light panel from left to right, but it is still the same.

Any advice?

Turn off Translucency and set Thin Walled to ON.

I tested it, thin wallet will make it transparency and thats not my target, thats why I did dye it self, because the basic shader was like that.

So if I let it full pink it will always reflect?

  • A light, shiny object will inevitably reflect soem light onto other things. If it has an inner and an outer surface (or if you have the double-sided Iray shader from the store) you could make the inside dark to reduce that effect. One thing to check is the the surface of the umbrella doesn't have a non-black Emission Colour property.

the inside dark thing sounds interesting, but I dont think I have such double sided layer thing...

  • Yes you do, a geometry shell with a -ve offset, then set it's material properties.
