Hi when I split the viewport. Isn't it possible to have two different angles in the perspective view? The static front, back etc. does not help in my situation.
So I need to create a new camera to be able to pan in the second viewport independently, right? Because when I pan in perspective view left, the right screen also get's adjusted.

I thought there was a preference for independent views, but that may have been in modo not DS. The scripting documents imply (or used to imply) that it was possible to create additional views (as opposed to cameras) but I never got it to work.
Thanks for the fast answer richard! Well if somebody found a way to do this, please let me know as it would improve the workflow a bit :)
No way to do that that I'm aware of (but I don't claim omniscience ... at least in DS).
Why not just create a template with a default camera that clones the initial persepctive view, and use perspective view in one viewport and the camera view in the other?
The potential issue is the cameras changes are added to the undo stack, which can be inconvenient when editing. Views are not tracked for Undo.
