IRAY Pixel Filter - What's the difference between Box, Triangle, Gaussian, Mitchell & Lanczos?

I understand that a high pixel filter radius blurs the render, while a lower value sharpens it. It seems a value of 1.0 is ideal if your going for sharpness. Anything lower than 1.0 seems to result in jagged edges.
What's the difference between Box, Triangle, Gaussian, Mitchell & Lanczos?
Which one produces the sharpest, cleanest detail with no blur?

They are all algorithms, from fastest to slowest. If I recall correctly Lanczos is pretty much the best, preserving sharpness where needed. 1.0 gives the best sharpness, and more means that the filter takes into account adjacent pixel values. You could go lower than 1 if you decide to downsample in your image editor later.
One thing to keep in mind: Box is best for denoising.
