In a weird coincidence, I just picked up a copy of the last film he directed, Absolutely Anything, in a recent VUDU sale and noted that that film was also the final film role for Robin WIlliams. I was going to watch it this weekend, but now it's going to be kind of creepy given that the other surviving Pythons are also in it and I'll be wondering how many of my other favorites may end up making their last appearances in that film. At least Simon Pegg still seems to be healthy...
Brian's mother:He's not the messiah, he's a very naughty boy.
ARTHUR: Now what happens?
BEDEVERE (played by Jones): Well now, Launcelot, Galahad, and I wait until nightfall and then leap out of the rabbit and take the French by surprise, not only by surprise but totally unarmed!
ARTHUR: Who ... Who breaks out?
BEDEVERE: Er ... We ... Launcelot, Galahad, and I ... Er ... leap out of the rabbit and ...
LAUNCELOT covers his eyes
BEDEVERE: Look, if we were to build a large wooden badger...
In addition to his personal gifts of comedy, he also co-directed the Grail with Gilliam and directed Life of Brian and Facts of Life.

That's a bummer... I wasn't aware he had developed a form of dementia that rendered him unable to speak.
This has been a sucky year so far.
...spam...
What is?
Not spam. Google his name, he passed on Jan 22nd 2020, today!
R.I.P. sir. Thank you for the brilliance and laughs!
Zip, zoom, over the head...
"Spam" is a (great) Monty Python sketch, see video above ;)
It is spam, Terry Jones wrote the sketch https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spam_(Monty_Python)
SPAM, SPAM, SPAM, SPAM and SPAM!
I think Mr. Jones would have approved of the confusion.
I'm sorry to say that spam's off (permanently) - sad news.
I'm thinking I should eat some spam to honor him. :/
Man. Monty Python was a deep part of my childhood and formative years.
To be more precise, it was Spam Terry Jones with Michael Spam Palin ;)
I only saw a sketch or two of Monty Python as a kid on PBS. However they got to be far too popular and expensive for PBS since that time.

That explains a lot actually.
Very sad news about the fabulous Terry Jones. Time to do a binge watch.

Just got back in and it was, literally, just being mentioned on the BBC news ... rats, sad news.
In honor of Mr. Jones legacy, I would like to present "The Comfy Chair".
Wow, I'd never seen the Spam skit before! (I mostly know MP from Fawlty Towers and that Viking movie.) Who says social forums aren't educational!
I like that chair.
Well, I didn't expect the Spanish Inquisition.
RIP Terry Jones
Oh No! Not the Comfy Chair
Given Jones played the bewildered Cardinal Biggles, might this render be appropriate for this thread?
Sincerely,
Bill
LOL! Fun!
.....aww bugger.
Rest in peace King Arnulf!
'This is not happening!' scene from Erik the Viking.
So many fun movies from the Pythons.
And yeah Spammity Spam, Wonderful Spam! Spam Spam Spam Spam, Spam Spam Spam Spam.
RIP Terry Jones :(
You missed the posts upthread a bit — it's really the Spamish Indigestion.
