Hoi!

I found this:

https://www.daz3d.com/wound-makeup-artist-for-genesis-8

and it say:

That it use decals.

But... so far I learned it, is a decal... just in iray visible and... does not fit to a body? So when I add the wound I have to add it again and reaarange it again, when I change the scene? I mean, it would look weird when the wound is moving during a comic O_o

Iray decal nodes are only visible in iray preview and render (i believe).  In order to add/make a decal, the decal node must be parented to something (i.e., figure, figure bone, or object).

Because the node can be parented to a bone of the figure, the decal should follow the parent bone moderately but only to a certain extent so i think you may need to manually adjust between poses.

Hmm okay, thanks for your Feedback, I will think about it, if I get it, with my actual PC are decals/iray live views a slow process... so placing a decal is very ... annoying^^

If you need the wounds to be consistent between pictures, then you may want to use the L.I.E. functionality instead (not having it, I don't know how the LIE functionality is set up, but LIE certainly isn't inherently a 3DL only feature, so it may work fine with Iray), as this will apply it on a UV level rather than projecting it based on the geometry.

Decals certainly have their uses, but as with all things when it comes to CG rendering, they also have some limitations.

I used the Layered editor sometimes and that is not bad (I wish it would have some Gimp features like drawing, an eraser and other basic paint tools...)
