Shrunken model grows when I export it?

I have a character model. I shrink it with the scale meter, but when I export it, it grows back to its original size. Why is this happening and how can I fix it?

What percentage are you exporting it at? (I mean under the export settings.)

Where you import it to will also have an effect.

I would strongly advise avoiding exporting anything that isn't "100%" in your character's scale parameters.  It'll cause all kinds of problems further down the line.  If you have a pipeline going, FBX for example, into another piece of software, always scale the figure at the last possible moment.  E.g. my character is actually 110% overall scale in Daz.  I export at 100% and import into Unreal Engine (through Maya).  Everything is multiplied by 1.0, which means there's no monkey business needed anywhere in the pipeline to maintain the scale.  When I put the figure into the scene, only there do I change the scale to 1.1 (110%) for the correct size.  Animations can be imported at 100% and shared with other characters with no change needed.  They can be retargetted to scaled figures at some later time.

The reason I give this advice is so you keep your sanity when trying to understand at which point in the pipeline the scale actually occurred.
