[Razer Blade Pro 17 Laptop with RTX2080 Max-Q] As a second machine...
Anybody got any thoughts good or bad ?

    The Max-Q part means that the card runs at a much lower clock speed than a normal 2080, so as a consequence it will run a fair bit slower. The advantage however is that the GPU will run cooler, which is a good thing if the fans in the laptop are not that big. When looking at render benchmarks make sure you look at ones for the RTX 2080 Max-Q, and not the ones for the RTX 2080, as they will not be the same.

  • Cooler running in a laptop is probably a good idea, and it's a second machine so quieter running is another advantage. My desktop machine has 2x GTX1080Ti so that where I do most of my Daz playing...

    I'm mainly interested in what people think about build quality/reliability for that brand.

  • Razer makes good gaming laptops. The Blade is very well regarded.
