Not sure if it's been said, but I'm guessing this "Buy the STAFF PICKS EPIC FANTASY BUNDLE today, and get a coupon for $20 worth of Daz Originals FREE¥ tomorrow." hints that tomorrow will be a new DO character/Pro Bundle. If that's right, then I imagine the deal from last weekend (20% off next Pro Bundle) and the extra $$ in DOs could make it a really great deal. Or... they're just going to do-away with the purple banner (like today) and if you didn't take advantage of either/both deal then the Pro Bundle will be full price :P

Don't you have a coupon further down the MM promo page for a discount on that?

Not that I see.  There's a coupon for an extra 30% off the staff picks bundle itself and... that's it. And the capper is that after days of multiple key items, the only one for the extra 10% today is that same lousy staff bundle.

I own all of them, and all of the Staff Picks bundles have been like this.  Staff Picks probably means that someone took ten seconds to look up what items had sold well already.

I own 9 of the items. There's a 30% limited time discount that leaves this at $94 and change. No very interesting at that price.

ETA: The Build Your Own Bundle option is way cheaper. Overlooked that earlier.

The first G8 Staff Picks Bundle had a purple banner for people who already had a number of components, the more you already had, the bigger the discount (I believe it went as high as 80%). It was a *very* good deal even for people who already had most pieces, provided they had an interest in the remaining pieces. No such banner today, and although the pieces are all fantasy, even fantasy artists might not be interested in all of them. Doesn't help that this fantasy bundle is more than two and a half times as expensive as the first Staff Picks Bundle. That's quite an investment.

What is interesting today, is that all the products in this bundle are for sale seperately, there are several very good deals there.
Just too bad that the seperate products won't be qualifiers for the $20 coupon tomorrow, and that you'll have spent money that you might've rather spent on the Pro-Bundle tomorrow.

I had one of those coupons, but the thing to remember was that discount was off the whole bundle price, so ultimately the discount on the product(s) (can't remember if it was one or two) that I didn't have was significantly less than waiting for them to go on a regular sale. That said, the real problem is making some major discount promotion contingent on buyng a bundled group of products that have already been for sale individually in the store.

Assuming there is a pro bundle tomorrow. That's pure speculation on someone's part. Next Tuesday will be two weeks since Jonathan 8 was released. I'm more inclined to think we'll see the next pro bundle release next week.

There is nothing on offer today that tempts me, so my store credit is safe for another day…

Another item has been added as a key in addition to the staff pick bundle now.

I don't know.  It's pretty rare for DAZ to open hint about a new character release more than a few days in advance except in the case of known pairs like Lee/Mei Lin and Darius/Monique.  On the other hand, we've had a lot of extremely short-run Pro Bundle promotions lately, the Jonathan Bundle dropping out of the key items list would seem to indicate that he's no longer a priority, and I can't really see them doing yet another catch-up sale so soon.

Either way, we'll find out tomorrow if that's the day we get then next character or not.

Again this punishes long time users who own most of the bundle. There's only a handful of products that I don't own and I passed on them several times. The Jonathan Pro bundle should not have been pulled to give us the extra 10% discount....

I agree that the future discount shouldn't be based on these sorts of bundles.   Kind of a kick in the teeth to those of you who have been around for a while.

If I put the items from the bundle that I do not already own into my cart, with the discount they are offering, it comes to $41.  The best price offered on the staff bundle for me is $94.

And... I also own everything in the "best of Flash sale" that just started. Seriously DAZ, can you please just stop with the little tiny pool of eligible items sales?

He's dropped out of the 'Your Key' list before, and then been reinstated a day or two later. I think the reasoning behind pulling other products out of the list is to give customer's more incentive to buy the 'key' product on offer that day.

While I don't, I do own all of those few that I want.  I have over 80 items on my W/L, and I'm amazed at the number of sales that have no W/L items included..

Look at the bright side… You can save your money/credit for another day. That's how I'm looking at it, anyway. The only thing I "bought" today was the weekly freebie for being a member.

I had to look it up again, but the bundle at the time was priced at 51% off, with a purple banner bonus of upto 80%, so effectively it had a total discount of upto 90.2%, making it cost only $15.68. The offer also included 2 additional free (select, so milage varied for each customer) Daz Originals. Overall, it depended a little bit on what someone was missing from the bundle and whether the selection of DOs had anything useful. Missing two or three of the more expensive pieces could make it a very good offer, while missing only the cheaper pieces could make it better to buy them seperately.

Can someone better at (Daz) math help me out? laugh The promo says "

    40% OFF Newly Mad Releases

Buy 2 or more to get 50% OFF* them

and if you have one of the key items (I do) it says 10% off.

So does that mean the total I should be seeing off of two newly mad releases in my cart is 60%?

I'm a PC member so I'm not sure if I am getting that discount (??) but it says 55% off each item. Did 10% get split between the two items???

No, it means that the initial 40% is repalced with 50% and then you get 10% off that, for a total of 55% off (plus any PC dscount if appropriate).

50% discount and 10% discount is 55% discount. So what you see is correct. Percentages are not added but multiplied.

I believe that is the correct percentage since the 10% off means in addition to whatever discount you already have. Or rather, the 10% gets applied in the cart.

So let's say you had 2 items each costing $12.

    • $24 - 50% = $12
    • $12 - 10% (amounts to $1.2 usd) = $10.28 (which is 55% off).

The 40% discount gets replaced with the 50% discount.
Next, the 10% bonus discount is calculated over the result of the previous discount, which basically means 10% off the remaining 50% you have to pay = 45% left to pay, so the total discount is 55%.

The Daz Store has 3 types of mechanics when multiple discounts are available:
    1. Discount B replaces Discount A. The "Buy 2 or more to get them at 50% off" is a good example of that one.
    2. Discounts are additive, so Total Discount = Discount C + Discount D. These discounts are fairly rare. And for a good reason, because a big mess up could result in a total discount going over 100%, which would mean we'd get paid for buying stuff. Sometimes a discount seems worded this way, but is actually a type 1 or type 3 discount.
    3. Discount E multiplies with Discount F. The "10% off if you have any Key Items" discount is a good example of this one.

Not all discounts combine. Quite often, discounts don't affect Fast Grab items, which have a 70% discount. But, it never hurts to try, because other times they do, resulting in discounts of more than 90%! Like, today, the Sci-Fi Police Outfit for G8F is both in Fast Grab and in the Select Sci-Fi section. However, only the Fast Grab discount applies, the Sci-Fi section discount doesn't. On the other hand, the Military 1050 Truck is part of both Fast Grab and of the Hit the Road items, and for some unknown reason, this time the discounts do stack, which can bring the total discount to 91%, which means the Truck costs only $2.25.
