The code does work on PC+ membership btw. I added a PC+ new release to my cart and I got a discount of 80%. $14 is pretty cheap for a years membership, that is half the normal cost for a quarter's membership.

@Havos Curious, what did you have in your cart to get the year PC+ membership for 14$?  Which code did you use?  I only get 28.00

Probably combined this offer: https://www.daz3d.com/pro-render-suite with the 60% flash sale.

Correct, I needed a new release in the cart as well to trigger that, but it can be any new release (including a PC+ one) to get that extra 50% off.

This is not a new issue.  The DAZ store needs to hire someone who actually READS the ads they put together and makes sure they say what they think they say.

And it probably should be someone with more than just basic knowledge of the english language.

Hi, I am new to Daz so forgive me if this is a stupid question.  Is there a way to receive sale notificaiton for items on my wishlist?

Yes, you have a Get Email Notifications! link above the wishlist. I think it's from the daz deals plugin.

The page from the link allows for customization of what you want to receive.

Thanks for the reply.  Is this the third party Daz-Deals plug-in?  I am uncomfortable to give third party access my account data.  I was hoping for a native function.

Daz Deals is a third party plug-in. I've been using it since it was introduced, and I've not had any privacy issues. I highly recommend it. Your shopping experience here at Daz will be much easier with it. There are many options which have to be enabled to work, so you can keep it pretty much as lean as you want.

As L'Adair said it is third party unfortunately but Daz shop has so many faults, it's not that usable without it.

I installed it after the people on the forum recommended it and I wouldn't go back.

I also think they don't have access to your data, it doesn't go through a server or anything, I think all it does is local.

Go ahead and hold your breath and we'll tell folks to look for  Blue Boy (or Blue Girl, i53570k being a rather gender neutral name though blue is usually considered the default color for boys.)  This store has been a disaster for years and on the rare occasions when DAZ seems to find a little inclination towards fixing it's myriad flaws, what we usally get is things that nobody wanted like DAZ Connect and encrypted content.

A quick word about the addon: it's the nature of every addon that it runs locally in your browser. As such, its full source code is on your computer and you have access to it. Feel free to go through it and see what we do.

Unfortunately I can't use the Daz Deals plug-in on my iPad (where I do all my shopping) so it's really annoying to see all the starter bundles when I already have the pro bundles or everything in them. Can't the web people do anything about that??? (@mods...)

@Ati, I remember someone saying you can't use the plug-in for Safari but any chance there could be one for Firefox on the iPad or iPhone??? smiley

Unfortunately, I don't have an iPad or an iPhone, so I personally can't test to see what works and what doesn't on them. You could give Firefox a try. I might not remember correctly, but I seem to recall @Overdrawn using it on an iPad? I could be wrong.

Just checked, it said I needed the newest version of Firefox to use it and when I clicked on download now, it went to the App Store and I already have the latest version.... So frustrating. I really want this on my iPad and phone!

  • Not sure why Daz doesn't tell you which 4 hours are in their "4 Hours" PC+ members sale. It apparently isn't the hour I tried it (this one) despite the ad on the shop page and the items that came up when I clicked the "shop now" button. This is getting more and more frustrating as it seems like less and less of the "sales" are functional.

@acecombs_b317c01b8d, Based on the timestamp of your comment, you posted 12 minutes after Daz Midnight. That "witching hour" is when the store changes over. Make note of the time, and just be aware that any sale slated to end that day will end at Daz Midnight, even though all the mirror sites haven't caught up yet. In over five years, I have yet to see a flash sale or blink sale last past Daz Midnight.

Daz uses the services of CloudFlare to mirror the site in thousands of locations around the world. Overall, that allows more people to log on at the same time and no one gets a denial of service due to too many people being logged in. The main drawback is, however, that the changes that go live at Daz Midnight on their primary server take time to propogate to all the CloudFlare servers, and during that time, expired offers still show in the banners. It's a trade-off, and the reason Daz changes sales at midnight.

Also bookmark this page and you'll have a better idea of what time a flash or blink sale started, because someone will come in and post about it.

And there is a reason this thread, (and many before it,) includes "There's Always Another Sale™" in the title. Sometimes those sales are as good as the one you missed, sometimes not. And every once in a while, the next sale with something you really want will have even better discounts!

This is ridiculous. Not only did it not give me the PC plus 20% discount in the "4-hour" sale (my PC+ membership is current) but it also raised the price on one "Fast Grab" item from $7.49 to $17.47!  The screenshots show the times as 11:18 to 11:20 pm, at which time the ad is still up, the prices are shown and the price increase shows as well. I don't care so much about the discount, but these non-sale sales are a big waste of time. Anyone else have this issue?

Is it 11:50 for you now or 00:50? Because it looks to me you went over Daz midnight sales as the hair went out of fastgrab at midnight so that is why the price is no longer 70%.

Thanks for this explanation for the delay after Daz midnight. I always imagined a webmaster coming in at midnight with maybe a few others and making sure there aren't any glitches that would make them lose money, checking everything for a little over a half hour and finally saying, "OK, looks like it's working, we can go live now..." But it does seem like there's someone in the office even after midnight because if I remember correctly, sometimes Cris said she would report something and it got fixed at some late hour... Or maybe they can work remotely? Daz will always be this bizarrely fascinating and often annoying enigma that I spend too much time trying to analyze lol...

  • Save what sanity you have by not trying to analyze DAZ or you could end up like this

Daz midnight 12a varies depending on what time zone your in.  Daz is on Utah time MST.  For example, if your in PST, then 11:18p is after MST 12a midnight (= PST 11p).

    Fun isn't it?!

This would be far simpler if Daz would post the hours of a sale and the relevant time zone (which I'm guessing is Pacific Mountain Time since they're based in Utah--but who knows?). Then people could simply look at the time zone and figure that out. The sale, you'll note, had a notice that it had been extended, but from what to what? It appears that there don't seem to be Mods posting on the Flash Sale Alerts page--is it dependent on when someone notices and posts the information? Also, there doesn't seem to be a way to tell from the forum posts exactly when the sale starts and ends.

Again, posting the time zone and hours of the sale would make this unecessary. Plus posting the hours creates what e-marketing people call "urgency", which increases the likelihood of increased sales and better customer relations. People are frustrated when they find that a sale has expired after they try to complete a purchase. Daz Midnight is (and again, I'm guessing it's MST) 11 pm on the Pacific Coast where I live, 10 pm in Alaska, and 9 pm in Hawaii, not to mention all the other time zones in the world.

PS--On a side note--and this isn't a pressing issue--but Arizona doesn't observe DST and other states have brought up bills to abandon it, which means that there could soon be a patchwork of time zones across the US during different times of the year, especially since times zones aren't delineated by state borders but may be determined by states--Alaska shifted its time zone an hour ahead a few years back. This also could mitigated by simply posting the time and the time zone of the sale.

In the "She Comes From the Darkness" page, it would be useful to add that the 40% and 50% discount are not applied to the displayed price, but that they replace the 30% that's already applied.

    Yes, Daz uses MST.
And yes it would be easier if Daz posted begin and end dates on their various sales, but people have been asking for that for years and it never happened, so don't hold your breath.

New Flash sale is weird. Discount already applies, coupon code does nothing. What's up with that?
