Question re inappropriate gallery comments

If you get a gallery comment that you deem inappropriate, what do you do?

I tried to delete the comment, but that doesn't seem to work.
Earlier I was able to delete a gallery comment that I made myself on my own upload and that worked fine. But I don't seem to be able to delete someone else's comment on my upload. It asks me whether I really want to delete the comment but if I click yes it just doesn't do it. Is this how it's supposed to be?

Don't see a "report" function, either...

    There's suppose to be a Gallery moderator team but I don't have a clue how to report to them

    The only way I see to draw attention of mods in gallery is report image button. Maybe you could try using the "other" catagory, and in the comment field ask moderator to look at the comments.

    I did that now, let's see what happens.

    I guess reporting the own image with bad commentary is the quickest way for the gallery mod team to find those

    kinda weird there is no report button for the comments. Maybe they had problems with people reporting a bunch of comments that broke no rules and ripped it off lol

    Yes can delete the render & re-post it too if reporting to mod doesn't work. If it's habitual you can turn off comments as well when you post to the gallery.

    Well, it worked! Reported my own image with the comment "Please remove inappropriate comment by [user]", now the comment is gone. Took only 1 day.

    Slightly strange way to go about it, but as long as it works...

    @nonesuch: That feels a bit too much like letting the [BLEEP]'s "win", though...
    Luckily this is the first such comment I've received in 1+ years of posting so let's hope it stays like this... knock on wood.
    Most folks 'round here seem really lovely and almost all comments have been supportive so far.

    just worked it out we can delete inappropiate comments ourselves. Click on the  MY GALLERY link that you click on to upload and locate your image that has the comment clicking it to open and edit it scroll down and you'll see the comments and in the right hand top corner of the box containing that comment click the x for the option to delete it as you can see from my screenshot of a comment I'm going to delete now, now worked out I can

    ok edit just tried clicking the delete comment option and it didn't do it sorry got all our hopes up so still got that comment on my image so can a mod explain why we are given this option when itdoes not work

    Gallery mods are a different team to the Forum team.  You could contact the team leader [email protected]

    To have a comment removed, you need to report the image that the comment is on and then in the box you get just put that its in regards to an inappropriate comment. On the X s being there, we were doing some work on some stuff so I believe they may just be temporarily visible but won't work. Sorry for any confusion. I am going to lock the thread since this is a temporary thing and since reporting comments has to go through the image reports (since it is a separate team to the forum team) If you have more questions please feel free to email me [email protected]
