DAZ Connect vs Working Offline
in The Commons
I'm just wondering if there's any reason to either work all the time with DAZ Connect vs "Work Offline."
While using DAZ Connect, is DAZ able to "see" what other third party content I have installed, for example from Renderosity?
Working offline should free up some bandwidth, but by how much? I can't image there's a lot of talking between DAZ and the server.
If I just never connect to DAZ Connect again and only install through the DIM then would that cause any problems?
Thanks

As far as I know DS will go to the server only on first connection for a session, or if it is told to do so by invoking Refresh Metadata. It doesn't report on what you have installed in any event.
There won't be any real issues from going completely offline. We have never used Connect and have been offline for almost 100% of our time. The only thing we've ever gone online for is grabbing a beta or activating a plugin code.
I don't like connect and the whole not so smart thing.
I didn't even install the SQL component, but the spam of it writing to disk because it could access aspects puts wear and tear on the SSD, so I did install that.
There are a number of folks that don't use it.
I much prefer DIM, and my own folders.
