RSSY Clothing Converter from Genesis 2 Female to Genesis 3 Female error

I bought RSSY Clothing Converter from Genesis 2 Female to Genesis 3 Female yesterday and just tried it, I followed the tutorial as best as I could, it was hard to find all the boxes to check without pictures in the tutorial but I think I got it right, it went on for over 4 hours. It seams to have worked but there's no presets/icons for the textures sad. Please help me with this, this is not very convenient at all, first find the outfit to choose and then go to genesis 2 female, clothing and find the same outfit and choose textures, I can't work like that sad. I hope that this can be fixed somehow, I really don't want to do that more than once sad

Do you use  Smart content  because in the commercial thread it states that :

"Your new Genesis 3 Female wardrobe is completely Smart Content aware! They will show up when you select a Genesis 3 Female. Plus, all materials shown in Smart Content for your Genesis 2 Female item will show for your converted Genesis 3 Female item. "

  • Thanks for the reply, no, I can't see that they are there, I usually don't use smart content but I selected G3 and looked in smartcontent and the two outfits I looked for were not there, (I choose two to look for but I have many more than that).

Okay so how do you normally find your stuff?( I don't use smart content either )

  • I go to people, G3 or whatever, and clothes. The instuctions said to make a directory in My Library for G3/female/Clothes and I followed that to the letter, so I can see the converted clothes under my library, G3/female/clothes but no icons for materials or any material folder at all. I am in the process of copy over the material files now but  I have only come as far as to E yet, this is going to take a while ... sad.The written tutorial should have included pictures also, it was very hard to find all the settings talked about in the text, it is not as easy as it sounds in the description of the product. It's really irritating to see the process go on for 4+hours and then it doesn't work as advertised.

Well if you did  the conversion by the batch ,yup it's gonna take awhile,it is adding a lot of stuff to the items ,and nope it doesn't create material folders at all so you can do 1 of three things  ,1 is use smart content , 2 is copy the material folders over to the converted clothes or 3 do the hunt and search each time back in the G2 clothes ,and I will add a 4th ,use shaders or shader presets ......I personally copied the MAT folders over to the converted clothes and I use Shaders/presets .But if you think about it the time involved isn't too bad considering the clothes you now can use ,oh don't forget to check all the adjustments avaiable in the converted clothes .

  • It doesn't say anywhere (I think) that if you convert the entire G2 clothes folder then the material doesn't copy over automaticly. I am in the process of copy over the material folders from G2 to G3 now and I will probably use iray shaders in some if not most cases. My problem is that it doesn't work as advertised. It's not just select output place, select the files and voila everythings is fixed for you. I haven't had the chance to try this much yet since I have been busy with copy files, but if it works as great as the promos I will have very much use for it so I certainly don't regret buying this. I have tons of G2 clothes and I never use G2 (I bought them when I just started using Daz) so it will be great to be able to use them finally. And if the dresses and shoes works a good as it seams then I can start buying G2 clothes again.

It only says that the Material files will  show up in Smart Content  ,no where does it claim to copy the Material files into the converted clothing folders......it just says they will show up in Smart Content .

Plus since you batch converted you may find that some items will need to be reconverted using a different conformer to get a better conversion ,"voila everything is fixed" would be nice ,but it seldom happens. Me I'm waiting for the "Miracle Fat Loss Pill" you take it before bed ,wake up shower and all yout excess fat ,old saggy skin, wash down the drain and a fresh new you towels off ,I think that would be great

Well I guess we have a different wiew of what is says, it might not say that it copies over the material folders but it sounds like it just to run the script and that's it.

I have finished copying over the folders and begun testing and have come to the L section and so far most dresses seems to work very well, only one got an error so far, so I am very satisfied with that result. The higheel shoes are another thing, I obviously did something wrong, I choose (I think) to manually adjust the footpose and did so when prompted, but there was only a way to bend the foot and toes, not move them sideways so very often one side of the foot very sticking out of the shoes and there were no way to adjust that. I wasn't expecting a perfect result in highheels, I understand that this is a difficult area, but some of the result are a bit strange, comical almost here's a pick, The black and blue is the one using the converted shoes, the purple is the one using autofit:

By posting this and starting this thread I want to say that it's not as easy as it sounds in the description, it does say that some clothes/shoes may have problem but so far only one pair of heels looks ok if I hide the feet under them. It's not a bad product, most of the other clothes tested so far looks great, but there should be a tutorial with pictures in it. I have been using Daz for a few years so I'm not a total beginner, but I need a very detailed description with pictures. I obviously did something very wrong to get this result, but I have no idea what. I did my best to follow the instuctions but one particular box to tick/not to tick I just couldn't find anywhere. And I looked through all tabs several times. I guess it's was an important one. If it were a picture with it,or like: on the first (or whatever) tab click this option, but not even that info was given. The info kind of sounded like I had previous knowledge of the product. So again: it's not a bad product, but the tutorial is.

I thought I would post a pick of one of this products successfull conversions, the Tanked dress.  The perfect one were converted using this conversion program the other were made using the original dress from G2 clothes and using a product I have purchased that assists in autofit G2 clothes to G3 wich I bought a long time ago. I choose the setting for ultra tight dress. Here's the pick:

reposted from another thread in Commercial:

I am sorry you are having difficulty.  The script tries to make it easy but it is not an easy problem to solve.  As you found out, the scriptdoes not copy materials as that takes more HD space.  The Smart Content does work.  However, it is NOT in the Product tab (technically, they are but all converted clothing are under the LOCAL USER product) but in the Files tab for Smart Content.

With footwear, unless the script can find a foot pose, it is best to use the Foot Dialog.  As far as video tutorials, there are two, one for Clothing Converter G3F to G8F (which is similar enough to help):

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BxwcFoMR6AI&t=13s

and one for converting the footwear for G3F to G8F
