Hello

I try to understand the Octane Plugin. But I doesn't get any materials of the LiveDB onto an object. Doubleclick and so doesn't work. How does this work?

I think you select the item, then go into the material tab in the octane window, then drag the material to the surface you want to use it on. I can't test it becuase the material tab on mine is constantly freezing on me for some reason.

  • Thank you. Yes drag that works now. Who knows why it doesn't work before... maybe I should go to sleep :-D

TheKD's mostly correct.  You drag the LiveDB material you want onto the desired surface in "Scene Surfaces" (in the Octane tab).  Or, if you've got the octane viewport open, you can drag the livedb texture onto the item you want to surface.

  • Thank you for your answers.

It works this way. Now I'm playing around a bit. My target is to figure out how I can make atmospeheric effects like clouds, floor-fog, steam etc. with volume scattering. Volume scattaring works, but I get uniform fog only. Is there a way to modulate it with perlin noise or with an y-axis gradient. When I use the noise brick I still have uniform fog.
