Zombie Dog Make-Over?

I'd like to buy the Zombie Dog and try to make it into a rescue-dog that's been neglected.  Do you think there's something I can do to it's skin to make it look not so gruesome?

    Use the morph, but a regular Dog 8 skin?  Or create a geoshell with a regular skin and just make transparency holes in it for the Zombie to show through in places?

    Maybe use a geoshell or Oso Blendy to combine a regular dog skin with the zombie skin; dialed in right it might end up looking like bruises and regular (not undead) wounds?
