Are there any like for basic things? Specifically like cardboard or paper types, things like that? Cardboard has such a specific kind of matt that I can not seem to find a way to get it right.

    Are you looking for an actual Shader or a preset and for which renderer?

    I don't remember ever seeing a cardboard shader for Iray.

    You might be able to use a wallpaper shader, something like https://www.daz3d.com/homestyle-iray-shaders

    Look for photographer's studio backdrops. They have all sorts of paper textures, maybe not cardboard, though.

    A shader or a preset for iray, like for boxes, journals that I would like to have cardboard covers, things like that.

    nvidia have a bunch of MDL materials for Iray, there are cardboard, card and paper shaders in there. Problem is that they come as .mdl files as well as textures, and the only way to use them in DS is with the ShaderMixer.

    The attached image shows the two cardboard shaders, new on the left and used on the right.

    The shaders can be redistributed as that is what nvidia want us to do with them, not to sure about the textures that come with them though.

    Problem is that those are for the 1.5 version of the vMaterials, the 1.6 version is the current download, and there is over 100 new materials in it from the 1.5.

    EDIT

    I have those presets and I've just checked, the cardboard isn't in there.

    Richard could some one ask Rob if we have access to nvidia's MDL catalog system in DS, or do we have to do this the hard way by loading each MDL into the ShaderMixer.

    If you have Filter Forge, there's a free filter that generates a wide variety of seamless cardboard tiles, including bump and normal maps. https://filterforge.com/filters/5934.html ; If it's just for personal use, I'd imagine you can just switch those image maps out for those of a shader that's close, like one of the wallpapper shaders in https://www.daz3d.com/homestyle-iray-shaders ;

    I did a really quick and dirty test with the old filter just as a proof of concept... I should have adjusted the size of the tiles so that the size of corrugation was a little smaller and in the process I noticed that there's a newer version of the filter that has a lot more features, but it only took a few minutes to generate the images needed and the wallpaper shader proved to be the perfect base.

    I, unfortunately, do not have Filterforge, or photoshop nor can I afford either one at present. That's a good note for the future though.

    Also thanks nemesis10 for the link I will take a look at that :)

    FWIW, Filter Forge works just fine as a stand-alone for what you need to modify shaders for personal use.  No Photoshop required.
