More Issues With Measure Metrics

So, after haviing to reinstall Daz due to verious issues, I'm experiancing a problem with Measure Metrics. As usual when reinstalling the program, the Measure Metrics Pane won't display, so I followed the usual steps, to uninstall and reinstall the Figure Metrics and Measure Metrics in the DIM, however when I went to do the secod part of the typical solution, inputting the serial number in Help>About Installed Plugins> Measure Metrics, Measure Metric doesn't appear in my list of installed plugins. What do I do in this scenario?

Was Studio running at the time? Best to install plugins with DIM when Studio is not open. Close Studio, install plugin with DIM, start Studio, enter serial number, restart Studio.

  • Daz wasn't open at the time though. And I even "deleted" it in the DIM so I could totally re-dowload it.

Mine shows as "dzmeasuremetrics". I can't use it yet because it is for 4.12, and I am still on 4.11. I don't recall if it took the serial number, but it is listed (with the not unexpected red plug).

  • I'm on 4.12 and nothing like that shows up on the list for me. All plugs are green and the only place for serial numbers are under aniMate 2 and Face Transfer.

In DIM, if you right-click on Measure Metrics (assuming it is on the Installed tab) and select "Show Installed Files..." does it show this:

    DAZ Studio 4.5 (64-bit) :

    • /docs/Plugins/MeasureMetrics.dsx
    • /docs/Plugins/MeasureMetricsInlineHelp.dsx
    • /plugins/dzmeasuremetrics.dll

Underlined blue hyperlinks are good, black italics are not. Check the path for "DAZ Studio 4.5 (64-bit)" in DIM Settings -> Applications tab. Are the files located there?

Hmm, that's odd. All the links are blue (when I click on them they take me to the Files in question in my File Explorer) but when I follow the path (C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZ Studio 4/scripts/support/docs/Plugins) it says the folder they're in is empty, despite them being there in my File Explorer. Though I'm not exactly sure how this all works. Even though I've been using Daz for years, I don't normally have to mess with all this under the hood stuff.

"DAZ Studio 4.5 (64-bit)" should be pointing to "C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4". The plugin (.dll) should be in "C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins"

Hmm, no, looking in my File Explorer I don't see anything that has "figuremetrics" or "morphmetrics" in the file name. (Also I figured out that the path in DIM only displays folders, not files. Like I said, not much experience with the more technical things.)
Thanks so much for all your help. Resetting the path back to where it was supposed to be and un/reinstalling the packages did the trick.

Is the path you mention navigating to (C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZ Studio 4/scripts/support/docs/Plugins) the same as what the hyperlink is taking you to? I suspect not.

Studio will be looking for plugins in the plugins folder under its own installation folder. If DAZ Studio is installed in "C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4" there will be a plugins folder under that where all the included plugins should have been installed. Have you installed any other plugins (other than the ones that come with DAZ Studio)?

In DIM, you must ensure that additional plugins go to the same place, that is what the Settings -> Applications entry for "DAZ Studio 4.5 (64-bit)" is for. Make sure it is set to the same path as DAZStudio.exe. The final path to the plugin should be "C:/Program Files/DAZ 3D/DAZStudio4/plugins/dzmeasuremetrics.dll"

It was the same. I was looking at the hyperlink while following the path it displayed.

Okay, so is everything where it should be?

Yes, the issue is resolved. I just did't realize the DIM only shows folders, not files.
