Re: Catalina

Does anyone know if Daz Studio latest version works ok with Mac's Catalina OS?  I thought since I'm redoing my computer, I might upgrade while I'm at it, but I want to make sure they play nicely together first.  I seem to barely remember someone saying there was a problem, does anyone remember that?  Or have I gone batty?

Yes, I have some problems with DAZ 4.12 since updating to Catalina. Whenever I need to browse for something - for example browse for a bump map to apply to a surface - it doesn't work. There are ways around most problems this causes, but the LIE has become almost unusable.

Helpdesk is aware of this problem and has in fact provided me with a fix a while ago, but I haven't had the chance to test it. Will update you when I get around to it, but it might be a while. I'm so busy these days it's a little nuts.

For Catalina you should use the latest beta which includes fixes for some problems

  • I need to keep working, so I'll wait till it's totally confirmed things work with Catalina.

You can install the Public Build without disturbing the General Release. It has been confirmed by several users that the file dialogue issue is resolved in the Public Build.

Thanks, everyone!  I'll hold off on updating to Catalina, then.  Daz is the main thing I do on my computer, and I don't want to mess it up.  I especially change images all the time, and use LIE, so I'll just wait.

    Thanks again!
