    Wish there was a bundle.

I'm crossing my fingers and hoping we see even more animals in the store. Snatched this up with my claws...

(I'm also hoping for more morphs/skins... I'd love to see a Harpy eagle)

I'd like that also, love the Harpy

Looking at the promos, it's good there is an option with fish as he is really skinny and needs to eat, LOL

Same.  Was surprised that there isn't.

I am fortunate enough to live in an area with Bald Eagles, and have even gotten some photos myself. I plan on picking these up, but yeah, they seem a little on the lean side. Anyone who has them yet know if there is a morph or any facility to "fluff them up" a little bit?

Oh heck yes :) A Stirge and a Peryton would be cool, too.

It looks pretty good. Is there anyone who could show some renders next to Eagle 2.0? How do they compare in posing and bending? Has anyone updated Eagle 2.0 with Iray settings they like? I can't help but be curious. :)

Kinda surprised, you even commented this instead of quietly sliding your computer and starting your next slew of releases....if you can flip Dog 8, what are you waiting for?

Hah! Well, first that would seem to be a little rude, and second having a product utterly dependent on someone else's product.

  • there's a video onthe main sales page for the eagle showing all the products and options including poses and animation

I'm currently doing some test renders of the environment. That's rather spectacular, too. It's not quite as impressive as one of Howie Farkes's creations but it's way ahead of the pack still the same.

    Cheers,

    Alex.

Unfortunately this eagle will have trouble to fly because of its gap between
    the body and the wing.

The wider wing depth near the body much more distributes to the buoyancy than
the wing ends, disturbing air flow in this area causes uncontrollable turbulences.

For a bird's flight dynamics it is essential to have a countinious air stream
leading along the body to the tail feathers.

I give this eagle a plus for close-up details and materials, the set is well
designed and offers a lot of options. Minus - depending on the used pose and
point of view, it doesn't look like a real bird in all situations.

  • having a product utterly dependent on someone else's product.

Whoa, whoa? Isn't that where texture expansions come from? And poses for sets? I would figure - that would be fine AND you can always cut the original craftsperson in for some of the profits.

Do a bit of a split.

But now that I think about it, Eagle 2.0 sounds like a Daz-sponsored product or else this would/should be Daz Eagle 3.0.

Like how the dog was Dog 8. I see the difference. Still contact them and see what they say.

I did get the eagle and poses, but did wish it was a bundle- I would have gotten the tree too - if it was.

I think the new Eagle looks fantastic as the does the fish and the environment.

  • Oso3DOso3D Posts: 15,095

Poses and texture expansions are normally released concurrently with the product.

But the big issue is simply sales; requiring buying product 1 to use product 2 is very limiting.

If Deepsea makes further eagle sets, they'd be well-served making those sets function solo, even if they can work with the previous product.

I'm liking this more than I thought I would! The gap between wing and body bothers me too, but I see it on a lot of the 3D birds. I wonder why that is? Any way, here's something I did just testing it out.

The best looking eagle for Daz Studio, so far.

I was at the Leonardo exhibition in Edinburgh this morning and saw a sketch I hadn't noticed before - so this is my starting point with Deepsea's Eagle (now I have a reference it needs tweaking)

And we need a Cat 8 that can can do this! :-)

Looks great! I am guessing that the wing gap is due to clipping issues, I see it in lots of 3 d birds also.
