It's blue. Its familiar. It's in Fast Grab. Unfortunately, it is smaller on the inside than it is on the outside.

Note that it doesn't install under vehicles.

  • Does it come with a fez? Fezzes are cool.

And like the real "McKenzie-Trench" 1929 Mark II Metro police boxes, the door swings outward.

Uh, I'm a member of the "TARDIS Builders" site and the information presented about both the real "stations" and the fictional counterparts is mind staggering!  the way some of the fans have analyzed vintage photographs, accounting for things like horizon lines, vanishing points, shadow angles, shoot, they could make respectable forensic scientists!

    Sincerely,

How do you delete the superman inside? I can't remove it for some reason.
  • I finally picked it up...as the anniversary is tomorrow :)

Is the one here better for my doctor or historic renders?
  • RedfernRedfern Posts: 1,647

Arguably "historic" renders as the various "TARDIS" props have veered from the real thing, usually for practical reasons (like building it small enough to fit within the studio's "lift").

To explain the numerous deviations from real boxes throughout the show's history, it's been suggested the broken chamelion circuit is in a slight state of "flux".  So while it's stuck in the form of a police box, the outer dimensions "jiggle" every so often, thus resulting in different door handles, window 'glazing"width and height of the recessed panels, etc.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

Are fezzes part of Dr. Who lore? Or are you making a different joke?

Matt Smith's Doctor had a thing for fezes.

It was a kind of "one off" kind of thing.  In "The Pandorica Opens" Matt Smith's finds a fez and starts wearing it, claiming it is "cool" just as he considered bow ties being "cool".  At a certain point River Song gets fed up with the notion, seizes the hat, throws it into the air and zaps it with a ray gun, vaporizing it.  But for some reason, this "one time" schtick became a meme with fans, so he is often depicted with a fez though he only wore it for a short duration in that episode...amd I think again in "Day of the Doctor", the 50th anniversary broadcast.  They used a fez to test a temporal wormhole.  So I guess it was actually a "two off" situation.

    Sincerely,

    Bill

It's way more than just Matt Smith. Fez are a running thing going back to, IIRC, Colin Baker.

And yet, they're not anywhere near as extreme as the Dalek enthusiats.  There's a whole series of videos on YouTube where uber-hard core Whovians who've gone through all the episodes, feature films, live shows and magazine photos and, based on sometimes incrediblysubltle clues like the placement of a scratch, charted the specific appearance of each Dalek prop, when andby whom they were built, which screen appearances they were used for and the ultimate fate or ownership of each one.  It's utterly mind-blowing that anyone could, let alone would, spend that much time researching it and yet... I watched all the videos, "liked" them and subscribed.

It was actually part of a bigger running gag that started off with the then new 11th Doctor (Matt Smith) donning a bowtie as part of his new costume and saying "I wear a bowtie now.  Bowties are cool." Thereafter the 11th would occasionally find some new random article of clothing, don it and at some point say "I wear a (insert name) now.  (Inser names) are cool."  With the exception of the bowtie and, for a brief period, a Stetson-style cowboy hat, his companions would thereupon find a way to get rid of that item.  The Fez popped up again over a dozen times throughout the 11th's run... , during which we learned that the Fez's original owner was Albert Einstein, who appeared when the Fez was dropped on the Tardis control console, was wearing it when they met, and during DAY of The Docotor both the 10th and 11th Doctors ended wearing the fez.  The most recent capper was in the episode Kerblam!, in which the13th doctor recieved a package from a special delivery company that had supposedly been ordered by the 11th. more info here if that's not enough nerd talk for you https://tardis.fandom.com/wiki/Fez

Oh, yeah, right!  I recently discovered that channel and it's almost scary how thoroughly they've researched that stuff.  Like determining the 4 Dalek props Terry Nation himself owned (and loaned to productions and evenets) were not, as many assumed "movie" daleks (at least, originally), but were built for use in  a stage play!  Quite entertaining, what with the droll, serious voice overs.  One would almost expect them to solve some long standing mysteries and (supposed) conspiracies.  And I appreciate they'll promptly follow up with a retraction if somebody can adequately demonstrate they may have been mistaken about a particular point.  I believe "TheMindRobber" is intimately involved in their efforts, particularly the graphics and animations.

It was Sylvester Mcoy, the 7th Doctor, though there have been retroactive additions to the Who canon that also linked the 2nd and 8th Doctors to Fezs.

Amy grabbed the fez and tossed it, and River blasted it.
