I saw this on the news last night and posted a link to one news story about it.

The exact number of accounts that have been compromised is unknown. it is supposed to be a large number according to some reports.

If you have a Yahoo account(s) it is recommended that you change your password(s) immediately to be safe from what is being reported by several news agencies.

Another tip - make sure your Yahoo and Google passwords aren't the same as what you use for more sensitive sites.

I truly hate the world we live in, more every day.

I stopped using Yahoo email ages ago, but it's still linked to my Flickr, so I changed it.

Also, agreed with Dino. I took it one step further when I changed all of my passwords about a month or so back. None of my passwords anywhere are the same and they all consist of lowercase, uppercase, numbers, and symbols. I literally can only remember 1 or 2 without having to look them up (saved to hard copy on my desk, not in a file on my pc). lol

They are reporting on this now, but it actually happened a few weeks or so ago, as I had a message to change my password when I tried logging in to my yahoo account, unless there has been another problem. Fortunately my yahoo password was unique, not one I used anywhere else,

All of my userids, screen names, and passwords are different, on all emails and forums I use. I have about 250 userids and passwords now. But like a planaria, I can only remember 7 bits of information at any one time. And no parity bit...

Same here. I'm using a password manager on my PC though to store them (encrypted, with a master password). Makes it easy to copy-paste them or auto-login.

Also use Roboform in IE for the logins I use most.
