Help on render & dForce for Oso Lechuza
(If you're reading this Oso, I love it, it's adorable--even without dForce--and I am keeping it!)
I picked up Lechuza last week and started playing with it yesterday. I did a quick render, no dForce, last night that I really like, even though it's just owlbear, Kalea 7 and a backdrop. A friend encouraged me to try the dForce, which I hadn't used before*--just click Simulate, he said. Well, after he showed me where to select GPU instead of CPU in the render & simulate panes. The second image is the result. I'm using Daz 4.11.
*I'm not a late adopter of tech--I am THE Latest Adopter.
1--What did I do wrong and how do I fix it? Besides leaving both CPU and GPU selected. (Because it was very, very slow with just GPU.) I think Kalea's right hand and possibly other body parts may be inside Lechuza's mesh.
The third picture is a screenshot so you can see what processors I have.
2--Semi-related question: How do I dock the Render and dForce panes?
3--Semi-related question #2: Is there a way to make the Render pane stay larger? It always comes up about 2 inches by 3 inches and I always enlarge it, but next time, it's tiny again.

I'm (obviously) not Oso3d and I don't know anything about dForce hair, but I can help with the render size.
If you look at the Render Settings pane (which you have opened on "Advanced" to check your GPU) and click on "Editor" tab at the top, then you should see a set of parameters controlling the render. Select "General" at the top, then you can define how large you want the render to be. There are a number of presets for popular shapes and sizes, or you can pick "Custom" and type in the dimensions of your choice - you may need to uncheck the option that preserves the ratio between height and width if you want to change the shape too.
Oh, I missed your second question about docking panes - if you drag the pane (by click and hold on the heading) over to where you want them, either on the left near where you have "Content Library" or on the right near where you have Environment or Posing, then let go. They should stick there. If they do not stick, then you may have docking disabled. You can enable it from the main menu - there's an option somewhere in the "Window" menu. (wonky diagram attached below to show what to grab and where you can drag it)
Thanks--I do have docking enabled, I have added panes before, I just couldn't remember how, it's been so long.
Also, I wasn't clear on question 3--I know how to change the size of the rendered image. It's the actual pane for the Render Settings I want to enlarge. When it opens, it is so small, I have to drag it bigger to see any of the settings or tabs.
You actually don't have to Simulate to render dForce hair, and in fact with fur I generally recommend not doing so.
As for simulating it for wind or whatever... that's a lengthy convoluted subject.
(To be fair, oso lechuza seems a bit touchy with simulation)
Well mine starts out quite a lot larger than the one you showed, but never quite as large as the image I'm rendering - I always drag the corner to make it big enough, which is tedious but works. If there is a way to make the window come up full size then I'm sorry I don't know it.
