Help have of my stuff just vanished

I was just making  a scene with some characters, I shut off daz and went back now those characters are gone a lot of clothes and other items. I went back into Dim and they are no were to be found

    Do you use DAZ connect or just download with DIM? Are they showing as available and not downloaded? Do you have an external drive that some of your items are saved on that might be disconnected?

    I just use Dim, they are showing at any more in Dim I use a external and it is pluggin in, one of the characters that I know of that dispeared the textures are still in the runtime folder but the character is just gone

    If you check both the "installed" and "ready to download" tabs in DIM, which are they in? Or are they in neither? And have you already tried restarting your computer?

    Are they gone from the DIM installer, or just gone in the Daz3D library? (Or smart-content)

    I would use the "Content manager tools", and reset the database, or just try reloading the database. Could be that the CMS got corrupted and can't read past some point in the files. Rebuilding the database will potentially resolve that issue. (You may also want to "search known drives for files", before doing that, so any unknown files in the CMS, can be seen, to be "rebuilt", into the database of items.)

    When both of those things are done, I would restart Daz, to make sure the database loads fresh, without having any of the old corrupt data lingering around. (It will try to "refresh", but sometimes it just doesn't work right.)

    If it is just gone from "smart content", make sure you have something compatable selected, or nothing selected, so you can see what you are looking for... (Eg, if its content for a gen-8, then you need a gen-8 model selected in the scene.) There is also a checkbox you can unselect, to show ALL content, instead of filtered "smart content", in the smart window, at the bottom.

    I had something similar happen a couple weeks ago. Daz Install Manager pointed to the correct drive, Daz library pointed to the correct drive, yet only half of my stuff was showing; and the missing half, although installed in the same place, did not. Reimporting meta data did not help. The missing stuff did not show as an available prdouct in the download tab either or in DIM. Reinstalling the entire library via DIM had the same outcome.

    I found it though. In the Content Library, under Products labeled 1-9 and A-B. That's were the missing half was showing as availabe for download (greyish color, right click, should see update or install option) and only there. Did that, reinstalled it (went to the same drive it was already installed, overwrote it I guess), but Smart Content was finally reading it in. It's all back in place now. 

    What triggered it - I think - was me adding an ssd to where I cloned my existeing library over. Weird.
