Congratulations, Anthony Rendon and the Nats

I was a season ticketholder from 2010-2018.  Lived next to the ballpark.  Moved away back in June.  Like to feel that my inability to attend in July, August, September, and October caused the Nats late season success.

    As a long time Chicago Cubs fan, who has lived for many years within walking distance of Wrigley, I am glad the Nats won. It was their turn. 95 years though? Not even a century between wins?

    People lining up on the steps of the Canadian Embassy.in Washington, DC to watch the victory parade.

    There have been mixed reviews for franchise efforts to honor the Expos.

    Both the Minnesota Twins and the Texas Rangers had previously been Washington Senators. The Senators of the classic musical Damn Yankees are now the Minnesota Twins.  You've gotta have heart.

    Wait! "Former Monteral"? What happened to them? There were almost 2 million people living there.

    I was there only a few years ago. They can't have collapsed since then: AFAIK, Quebexit failed. Is this climate change related?

    First Chicago, now Washington? Is this a sign of the apocalypse? Is it climate change? The coming of Gozer the Gozarian?

    A spell and a seal to protect us from the coming evil, whatever it is. I hope this makes you all feel safer...

    I shouldn't tease: not everyone can be from Detroit, the "City of Champions".

    ...hey we knocked on the door last year and only didn't make it this year because our best hitter Christian Yelich was out for the last month or so of the season with a knee injury (though still won the NL batting title) and two of our best relievers were out all season for Tommy John surgery. 

    The Crew will be back,

    ..our pitchers are ready.

    ..and so are our bats.

    Thank you, Detroit, for Scherzer and Sanchez.  Nats could not have made their playoff run without them.  Houston thanks Detroit for Verlander.  Would not have won a couple years ago without him.

    Too bad they couldn't win while on the Tigers.  laugh
