[installed new nvidia driver but it's Game Ready instead of "studio" version...] Dell did this to me at the end of a session where they fixed a lot of stuff.
I want to fix this myself. Since I want to install an older driver I hope I don't have trouble. Installing the older driver in the first place was easy peasy.
Restore point.
Uninstall nvidia driver (and two other things it installed)
Reboot
Install new one.
The nvidia card does NOT run my graphics so I expect to be okay.
I'd just like confimation
OR is it really a problem for Studio to use the GameReady version?
Thanks

In short studio drivers are better tested and fixed and they are intended for professional graphics applications. You may think about game drivers as beta versions nvidia gives away to test them on the mass. If a game doesn't work fine because of drivers it may not be a big deal and a gamer may be fine with it. If a professional graphics application doesn't work fine in production because of drivers the company may not be fine the same.
Thanks, Padone.
I guess I'll give it a shot then.
