Anyone needing animations?

So over the past 3 or 4 years since I use Daz I created a lot of animations by myself, from fighting scenes with two characters to lapdances to talking/gestures and so on. It's a lot of content, carefully framed each frame and always used the standard gen8 male or female for best compatibility.

I will definatly share some content for free, but for some of the more complicated things (some span over 4000 frames) I was thinking of putting them into the marketplace after applying for a contributor account. But before I go through all the trouble I'd like to ask the community if there is any interest and if yes, in what type of animations, so I can narrow down the things to share / sell.

I believe a lot of people don't realize the potential of Daz when it comes to animations - yes, it's painstaking and takes a lot of time but once you get the hang of it the results are just as good as other software, in some cases even better. To give you guys some background, I am curren;t yworking on a fan-continuation of Stargate, called "Jack's Chronicles" which follows the timeline between SG:Atlantis and Origins. I also use Houdini for some scenes, but most of the animations are done in Daz, especially close up interactions.

Anyway, I just wanted to put this question out here and see if there is any interest.

Cheers,
George

  • I love animating with Daz as well, and I'd be interested in hearing what you have, but my one question is would you be selling aniblocks or would you be able to sell the actual keyframed animations without being an aniblock? I've tried using aniblocks and I just end up getting frustrated and hand keyframe everything myself. Now I don't even know if this would be possible, just a thought. Thank you!

  • Hey bennie, I am frustrated with aniblocks as well, so I would be selling/providing *duf files seperated in folders in order to make everything easier to use. I first tried to create aniblocks as well, but since every animation needs some manual adjustments it just didn't make sense to use it in production.

    The way I structure my animations is a scene file for the characters (for example g8m + g8f) that loads the characters in the standart pose. Then there is a folder for animations and a seperate folder for transitions. For example Animations A contains a folder with 5 animations, where at the end of the animation the pose of the figures is always the same. That way I can create "Transitions" to make everything easier. The workflow I constructed is the following:

    1) Loading the scene file, default pose
    2) Load Animation A3
    3) Load transitional animation A->B
    4) Load animation B
    5) Load transitional animation B->C

    and so on. That type of structure works especially well in situations where you have two figures and have them interact with each other (fighting, talking, romance, etc).

    For those who love anime, I also managed to create some sort of MMD generator, currently optimized for g8f/sakura/josie8 - I hand-animated all of the most common dance moves you see in mmd-videos and it follows again the same folder-loop-transition structure. I also experimented with more 'romantic' scenes, but as far as i know it's not possibe to talk about it here - though, daz3d is perfectly capable of doing high quality animations in that regard as well.

    If some mod is around, i'd be interested to know if Daz would allow me to upload only *duf files in the store as mentioned earlier, without using aniblocks.

    Cheers,
    George

    Anime , and teen motion presets.??  Yes please.    I work exclusively with daz & poser for my animation  so I'm always interested in animation cycles for daz studio.. smiley  I have a huge library of animation and assorted motions already , But hey ya can never have enough motions cycle right guys ..lol

    I prefer animated presets that load as a animated pose set in. DUF, PZ3, bvh, or cr2. over aniblocks myself they are easier to work with on the timeline . than importing or baking anblocks , but i have no problem using aniblocks as long as the cycles are seamless

    So it would be very helpful  to see some examples of your work, it would give folks a better idea if they are something we can use.  Stuff like everyday motions are very much needed , things like good assortment of standing idles , climbing over things like tables or some other obj such as tree or bench. , hanging from things such as a ladder or a ledge of a cliff.  action motions like driving a car or trucks etc.

    I'm interested too.

  • very interested

  • Nice! That sounds perfect how you have it set up! Thank you for the explanation. I honestly don't know what I exactly need or want, I just know I'd be up for any animation that I can utilize that's not aniblocks, so you'd for sure have sales from me.
  • I'm interested too! :-)

    I don't do many animation projects in DS, but I am really inetrested in your Stargate work, Got any animations of that to show?

  • I don't know if it would work on this site? I hate to say it but sex sells. I would advise you to sell the tame stuff here and have another account at renderosity and rendererotica for the stuff with bounce. This site is pretty victorian in what they allow except for some skimp wear. I would be interested but not in aniblock to much work, I tweek things all the time but I just don't like the way bones and animation work here in daz. I usaually animate in Lightwave or if I want canned animation I use iclone.

  • I -really- want a simple tutorial on the basics of making animations with Daz3d. I am a total newbie, and having a clean basic foundation, to begin with, would be greatly valuable.

  • Wow, I never imagined  thee would be so many people interested in this! I upload some samples next week, I am on a business trip in china right now and have no access to my library.
