please, more support for g8 in carrara
blended weight works just fine in carrara.
as long as there's no rigid groups,
it's like half a minute to save an outfit with a blended weight version,
just add a folder for blended weight, or add an "_bw" on the top, bottoms, shoes.
works pretty good without tweaking on the creator's side.
save a shader set in daz default, the transparent bits will be transparent in carrara
like eye moisture. eyelash alphas. is a preset in the daz default content, no fuss, muss
i don't expect any default shader to look fabulous without tweaking in shader room,
momma it's where the fun is.
geografts, like geograft shoes? or horns?
please, save a version as a regular conforming shoes.
most hd mnorphs come with a companion dsf file.
those can work in carrara when the hd plug-in is installed. subdivisions lets the morph work
displacement maps work in carrara, just like in poser and ds, with the phong tesselation plug in.
we can even uv unwrap, for when content creators use the u uv trickery

Genesis 8 (and 3) are not supported in Carrara, so I can't imagine QA would be able to check the files.
They aren't supporting em, but i am, as much as i can. literally data analyst.
you should check out our carrara challenges renders some time
how does ne go about applying to be on the genesis 9 beta team?
i've set up an excel spreadsheet to spot typos between internal id and internal name
what irks is they propagated the typos to genesis 8 without a second look.
if i could be on the g9 beta team, i could test it in carrara and give feedback on what they could fix.
Victoria 7 in a Carrara Chapel with a Sword. (VIACCWAS) - LOL
- Not just exported as an obj or something. Misty's V7 character loaded in Carrara, outfit used the Daz Studio transfer utility to make conforming to G3F, then saved as blended. The blended outfit was then loaded in Carrara. In Carrara, the outfit was "fit to" the G3F. The G3F morph dial for V7 was dialed up (can't remember how far). The outfit automatically morphed with the change. Selecting the G3F group, a purchased pose as double clicked and the V7 adopted the pose. The outfit automatically followed.
- G3M and G3F can be loaded in Carrara after Misty's identified typos are fixed. Clothing can be converted to blended and automorph and autofollow.
- Offered merely as evidence that "working in Carrara" is on par with claims that G3F and G8F can be exported to other programs via FBX or what-have-you. Not 100% match, but G3F/G8F clothing, hair, pose sets, and other content sold in the Daz store can be used by Carrara users for the cost of fixing some typos, which Misty has identified on behalf of the development team.

Yes, you can get an approximation of Genesis 3/8 in Carrara - but it isn't the full figure, and it is not supported by Daz because of that. In the absence of support it seems highly unlikely that they will make, or require PAs to make, Carrara-friendly versions and run them through QA.
Understood. - but fully compatible is a different issue from fixing the typos so Carrara doesn't crash when loading the base figures.
Edited to remove exclamation.
what does qa need to test for the clothes?
other than check that the bones are binded to the mesh?
Yes, but for all I know there may be issues (or potential issues) with making a change at this date.
dont need to change the original.
there's a developer preset in the folders.
could treat a carrara preset in the same way.
