Changing Background(Backdrop) size

Can someone help me please.  I inserted my own picture from my camera as the background (backdrop)  but I want to change the dimensions of it because it's too wide. I know it's a ratio/dimension thing but I just can't figure it out. Thanks! - Batski

You would need to edit a copy of the photo rather than the frame aspect of DAZ studio as the image will be stretched to whatever that is

I suppose you have it mounted on a plane of some kind.   You can scale the plane using the X and Z coordinates to match the dimensions of your image, and then use the Scale slider to make it the final size you need.

No Sevrin, I suspect the OP inserted a picture in Windows/Environement/Backdrop. You'll never get the aspect ratio you want doing it this way.

Do as Servin says and put your picture onto a plane that can be resized along its axises.

I don't have Daz Studio open right now, but I believe there is an option to adjust the render aspect ratio to match the backdrop.

When I use one of my pictures as a Backdrop I resize it in IrfanView to the same size as my render and it then it fits. If the render size is an awkward size then I will cut the image to size using the render size.

To the OP, you'll be better off creating a Plane in Daz Studio's  primitives menu,  and turning it 90 degrees with the X dial and moving it behind your character figure. With the plane you can then resize it as necessary directly inside daz studio to the aspect ratio you need. You'll want to put the image in both the diffuse channel and the Ambient color channel, and change the default black ambient to white or light grey.

It's in the Environment pane's option menu

Render Aspect Ratio is in Render Settings>General

    Capture.PNG
    663 x 701 - 44K

If the Environment tab is open and set to Backdrop there are two settings in the Flyout Menu, the three horizontal lines at top right, for 'Adjust aspect ratio to backdrop' and 'Adjust dimensions to backdrop'.

Thanks, Richard and Fishtails, That is exactly the setting I was remembering seeing.
