Mixamo import error
in The Commons
Trying to import genesis female 8 animation from mixamo. It works perfectly in blender, but crashes in daz with this error. Any ideas?

Not sure about the animation part, but blender uses the standard rigging found in most other apps. Daz Studio uses a different type of rigging, not to mention the .FBX import function in DS does not work well, only the export function. So any rigged figure you try and import into DS will likely give you errors.
Proprietrary problems. I try to avoid animation in Daz. Not it's forte. Daz does have alembic support (paid for plugin) but it is not updated very often this might work if mixamo supports alemic?
Thanks for the comments. I guess it is a lost cause afterall. I will use animate2 aniblocks, the few that exist, or just figure out how to transfer animation in Blender. I have autorig pro, but it crashes with Genesis 8 figures.
If you are looking for using daz figures in animation it is expensive but works. I would suggest iclone 7 and 3dexcange. iclone7 has canned animation and iray although I don't animate in Iray to time consuming. You can also use mcasual's free scripts to take your daz models into blender and animate in blender evee they work well but need a little tweaking.
I use iClone 3DX6 pipeline (not bought 7 yet) and its the only way I have ever been able to get any outside animations including Mixamo ones back into DAZ studio on DAZ figures , genesis 1 being the prefered base as I can adapt it for other figures.
there are other roundabout ways that it can be done, Poser11pro for example will import the animated Mixamo figures, BVHacker can be used to rename bones on BVH motions, some people use motionbuilder successfully many of these things have been discussed in other threads.
