Another Day Another DIM Failure!
in The Commons
For the second day in a row I have ordered from DAZ and then found that DIM will not download some of the items in the order. This is getting too much. DAZ need to get their act together.

It's possible that it's a left-over from when the servers were being hammered for the release of DS 4.12 - but without more infromation there's a limit to what anyone can say (even "me too!" is impossible). All we can suggest is a support ticket https://www.daz3d.com/help/help-contact-us
...I've been seeing "Download Failed" errors with more and more frequency as of late. The download folder is also on my much larger D drive so it isn't a drive space issue.
There were download failures when the servers were taking a hammering, for DS 4.12, and then the servers had a separate glitch - other than that I haven't seen any general issues. If it's happening over an extended period for you, given your issues with the update, I would check for system or connection problems specific to your system and location.
When DIM doesn't work there are other methods available.
...the failures occurred even when there hasn't been a heavy load on the Daz servers. I have a very fast and very reliable net service that is direct hardwired (paying quite a bit for it which isn't easy on my budget). Again it isn't my firewall or AV (or I'd get pop ups on the main display that something wasn't working or was being blocked). This all began rather recently about the time I first had that issue with the DIM sign in (for which I discovered the reason). I've never had such issues in all the years I've ordered and downloaded products.
It has to be some new revision in the DIM code triggering this and that is something I can do nothing about on my endexcapt have to deal with going through all these extra hoops every time there is an update.
Anyone just got a update to DIM and then 1000 items already installed have been uninstalled. Plus everything Ibought yesterday is not in Dim.Is there anyone from DAZ fixing this problem,
As with KK, that is not the usual experience - in this case I would suspect that a cusome location for the Manifests folder has somehow been reset, assuming an external cause hasn't simply moved or removed the Manifests folder. Missing products, assuming DIM has been online since the purchase, would be odder and might be an account issue - do they show in your order history and product library pages here?.
Thanksyou Richard I do indeed have a custom folder for content. I have changed the setting in the new Dim and the products are all back in the installed folder plus my purchases from yesterday are back Thank you for your help
A couple of the items I bought the other day never showed up in DIM. Had to manually download and put them in the DIM download folder so I could install them... not the worst thing in the world, but a little annoying, since it makes me wonder if I actually bought the item or not.
The problems are not happening to everyone. DIM 1.2.0.52 is working fine for me. I didn't lose any settings when DIM updated itself. I can download at 116 Mbps, about the limit of my internet service. Downloads are not failing.
It might be realted to filters, either on the item (especially if it's an older piece) or in DIM (the Download Filters button). Which items were they?
I'm finding far too many products tagged with just 'ConnectAvailable' so if you don't have that set in your DIM download selections you won't see them. I turned that on to get the Genesis 8 Starter Essentials to show up and found 240 updates and a handful of products I'd previously missed out on - 44 GB.
