PD Artist is a subset of PD Howler. So, while there may be some instructions in the PD Howler tutorials that are applicable, there probaly will be some things you can't do in PD Artist.

With PD Artist you will be able to do stills. With Howler you can also fly through the landscape.

if you use JSplacement, the png output of their elevation map is 8kx8k. I recommend configuring PD Artist or Howler to use the disk for undo space

Look in Settings where you can configure the Memory. There's a checkbox to make it use the disk instead of RAM. This will be best with SSD.
