Re the Joyous PC+ Anniversary Sale

Re the joyous PC+ Anniversary Sale, there's an aspect in the BYOBs which I deem mournful! Earlier I piled into my Shopping Cart 19 products from the BYOB 2, then kept my favourite 8 and placed the rest in my Wish List while I purchased the former 8. I then repiled the less favoured 11 back into my Shopping Cart and purchased the most favoured 8, relegating the final 3 to my Wish List. Not to overstate things too much, I found this process most joyous, but I found that I'd made 1 error which I could have made with 2 more items I'd sensibly placed in my Wish List! My singular error was that one of the products I bought in my second purchase from BYOB 2 was an add-on to a product that wasn't in the sale! Similarly, 2 other sale products that I relegated to my Wish List are only the materials to products not in the sale. I therefore have a comment to make to, and a question to ask of the noble sales teams who compile these generally most joyous BYOBs:

Comment: perusing the many excellent offers in the most joyous PC+ Anniversary Sale is extremely time consuming! So much so, that certain categories in the sale are consciously overlooked due to the inordinate time it takes to peruse all. Thus my question:

Would it not be more sales-effective to always include primary products and their secondary add-ons or materials in the same BYOB?

I ask this as today I would have almost certainly bought 8 more products - a 3rd BYOB - had not 2 of the products been materials only and 1 of them an Iray add-on. IE: re these 3 products I would have purchased 6 had the primary and secondary parts been on sale together, and then I would have made up the difference by adding whatever amount of products I needed that I thought I might use in future to a 3rd BYOB.

I would agree - I've often thought "That's a great texture set, but the item it's for isn't on sale" or "I like that item, but it's limited without the texture sets, and they're not on sale".

Even if the clothing itself would be considered too discounted at BYOB prices, then at least having it in one of the other sales categories so that the texture set isn't useless on its own would be welcome; I won't play the "buy the textures and hope the clothing is on sale later on" game, because I know I'd forget what I've already bought...

I know the feeling. I've downloaded some free textures and put the required items in my wishlist in case they go on sale.
Only to look at my wishlist later and wonder, "Why did I wishlist this item?"

  • In an ideal world, yea.. but this year I had to sort them from scratch, and theres no way to really do that other than by hand.. one at a time..  and given the catalogue size it would have taken literally days to do.

The fact that its highly likely items will appear in futher BYOB's, for the price, I'd suggest just grabbing stuff now.. then keep an eye out for the other items in the sale.

They seem ok here, you not seeing the 1.99 pricing? Also, can you keep any issues to either the usual sale thread, or the PC discussion thread.. it's just easier for the mods to track then.. thanks!

I've done that a lot. I have bought texture add-ons because they were really good prices, but the base outfits were $24--30. It's a risk, and some of the bases sat in my wishlist for months on end, but i'd get lucky and catch one on sale. It's a crap shoot. By the time I might get lucky to snag the outfit, it's way too late to return the textures, so I just suck it up. Is what it is by then.

The other day I had Stonemason product in my cart. Was gone to a couple appts in the afternoon, and it wasn't on sale when I got back. Now by some miracle his sale is back. The really old non-iray, legacy DS installer Modular Sci-fit Kit 01 is in my cart. Can't wait again and miss the boat.

Now, I jave a special bookmark's folder just for that. This way I don't forget why these products are in my wishlist.

..been making out like  bandit with the PC For a Day items.  Paring the wishlist down a lot more than I thought I would.

today $1.99 for a day seemed a bit lacking, at least for me. someone else might be having a buying frenzy

    A bit. It's a small mercy, really. ;)

Well, I do recommend esha's Laundry sets, one of which is in there; but other than that, I already had most of what I was interested in from the $1.99 selection.

I had kind of a frenzy on the shoe sale though, buying up a load of sporty and rugged footwear for my G8F ladies; with the often fairly practical characters I tend to create, the outfits I've bought over time have come with more sets of high-heels than I could ever have a use for, but my library often struggles to give me a sensible pair of shoes when I need one.

i was checking out the shoestore ...but then thought ... I own 2 wearable pair of shoes ... why do my DAZ characters have a hundred?  Maybe I should buy a pair for me instead. maybe.

Well, if I based my Daz library on the logic of what clothes I personally own, my female characters might get slightly miffed by having to share exactly zero bras between them. cheeky

But in general, I find it's often actually useful to have several similar clothing items; sometimes you need characters to wear similar things without them looking identical, sometimes you need a t-shirt with a slightly different cut, etc.

I simply didn't have enough practical shoes - now, hopefully, I do.

At least I can buy girls' undewear and cosmetics on DAZ without embaressment.

I was so excited to see Collective3d's Neighberhood Block 1: Part A on sale. Picked it up for $2.99. That's a super steal for all the stuff in it.  I think I only got 1 or 2 items for $1.99. Like Genesis Kid Poses and Willow Spring Bundle. I couldn't find anything else in the $1.99 stuff. The few other things I got were $2.99.  daveso summed it up when saying it's a bit lacking.  I agree and raise you one.

...I notice a fair number of Collective3D's items in the PC+ for a day sale.  Not complaining.

Another interesting thing is when you have the bundle in your wish list (priced about $17) and then find the separate elements for sale at $1.99. A recent example is Santa. For $4 I got everything included in the bundle. Ah, sales!
