Facegen Artist exported morphs DSON errors

Hi there,

I've noticed that G8 Morphs exported from Facegen Artist Pro aren't conforming to the DSON syntax properly and was wondering whether this might have performance implications for users on loading G8 figures if the morphs are present. Nothing shows up in the log and unfortunately my system is so puny it's going to be slow loading whatever, so i'm not in a position to test this against benchmarks either. But if people have been experiencing slowdown on loading the figures might this be a more specific reason than just the quantity of morphs in the library?

The specific things I've noticed are:

in the "id" filepath for asset addressing normal spaces are used, e.g.:

"id" : "/data/DAZ 3D/Genesis 8/Male/Morphs/FaceGen/Bob1.dsf",

Instead of using %20 for spaces as in the defaults, e.g:

"id" : "/data/DAZ%203D/Genesis%208/Male/Genesis8Male.dsf"

as per the specification here

Probably less important but the date/time format for the modified fields in the Facegen morphs is like this:

   "modified" : "2018.02"

rather than the ISO 8601 extended format in the defaults:

        "modified" : "2017-07-10T20:22:02Z"

as per the specification here

This may be completely irrelevant & the format flexible enough to accomadate the variations - I'm not an expert here so was hoping someone who knows this better would be willing to comment. Thanks for your time!

  • Thanks so much for pointing this out.

    I'll fix it in the next release of FaceGen Artist, just in case it does make a difference.

    Best wishes,
