Anyone use Corel Painter on their renders?

Corel Painter 2019.  Curious as to what it's like to use and what others have got out of it. Love to get some inspiration because I'm grabbing it while it's still on offer for 25 dollars laugh

    heart Corel Painter!

Attached is an older unfinished image I did in Corel Painter 2015.  I particularly love the blender brushes and the abiity to really mix color.

I also have a tutorial over at Rendo using this program too.

I am not sure of Daz's rules and linking to a Renderosity store but my screen name over there is also Chevybabe25.  I also have some really old tutorials ( probably 15 years ish)  for postworking renders in photoshop too :)

Yes, I have bought it in Corel bundle at HumbleBundle, but the license for Corel Painter 2019 is valid for 1 year only.

One can upgrade it to the full version, but at the not so low additional cost.

I am not complaining though, because I also got full version of Corel PaintShop Ultimate 2020 and the other nice programs, as well.

One also support some charities, so it is definitely a good deal for me.

Are you sure about that? Did you pay the full $25? I bought the Corel Bundle from HumbleBundle and got a lifetime license for Corel Painter on up to 2 devices. The only ones that were one year were for Gravit Designer and Parallels. I paid $25 which was the minimum required for the full bundle.

yeah, looks like the full version has a perpetual license which is great. The main reason I'm still on photoshop cs2 is because I'm not going to pay for something forever.  I will upgrade Painter if I like it enough though ;-)

Sorry for the mess. You are right. Corel Painter 2019 has lifetime perpetual license that supports up to 2 devices.

I have saved serials to the text file and opened it on the another computer, where I installs my programs,

and apparently note about 1 year license was for Parallels Toolbox for PaintShop Pro.

It's an incredible deal. I use both Painter and Paintshop Pro. and am already licensed for those but went ahead and purchased it anyway. The four brush packs alone are worth more than the cost. My Mum and hubby also purchased it but they lucked out because they had none of the software. paintshop Pro can use photoshop .abr brushes and is significantly cheaper than Photoshop and supports many of the same features

All this plus it's not $60 per month, or $15, or anything.

That is definitely the best deal ever from Corel.

If you look at the page with Corel bundle, you can see the statistics about how many people has already bought it.

Getting it on Monday. Being impatient have been playing with the 2020 demo for now. Achieved some kind of scratchy effect so far but I think once I get used to the interface/layout I'll be able to follow some tutorials and be awesome lol

    Looks great.

For me it is taking longer, to create something useful in Corel Painter,

but Corel PaintShop I have already used many, many times.

Don't you have to sign up for a montly subscription ($12) on the site to get it?

No. There is one time cost of $25 to get the complete bundle including Corel Painter 2019. Signing up for the monthly HumbleBundle subscription is purely optional.

  • ArtiniArtini Posts: 10,298

Exactly, I am buying different bundles from time to time and have never signed for the monthly deals.

I just do not like subscriptions.

FYI - the Corel Particle Shop program will give you annoying ads for brush packs to purchase.  The only way I've found to reliably turn those off is here:  https://painterfactory.com/painter_product_discussion/f/got-a-question-technical-issue-bug-report-for-the-painter-team/26282/brush-pack-promotions-how-to-turn-off - the post about modifying the Message.Policy file.

I am just wonder, if Corel Painter could substitute Substance Painter.

If so, that will be awesome.

Yeah, good one. I guess I'll be messing about with particle shop in paintshop pro?  ahh I'm such a Coral newb laughblush

And @p0rt myPaint looks very cool but seems more for people who can actually draw well, while Painter looks good for working on a pre-rendered image?

Maybe I am not familiar with Painter enough, but it looks to me, that it is mostly for the people who draw well:
