How to Ride a Dragon

Just purchased Daz Dragon 3 and just starting to play with it. How do you construct a pose with a Genesis 8 character so that the character can straddle and ride the dragon?
Any suggestions are much appreciated.

This pack has a couple of poses with the dragon and a G8F in it. Other than that, I'm not sure how to answer your question. Are you just asking how to pose figures generally? Have you experimented with the various posing tools and methods, and just can't quite get the pose you're after?
Thanks Gordig. I saw this package of poses for Daz Dragon 3 that included one preview with a genesis 8 figure riding the dragon. (Attached) I'm finding it difficult to get a Genesis 8 figure to straddle the dragon's girth and look balanced and realistic. I'm thinking of the CGI in GOT where Daeneris seems one with her mount regardless of the twists and turns of the beast taking gravity and motion into consideration. Wasn't sure if there were any other Genesis 8 figures poses included that gave a good starting point. Appreciate your help.
Ahem, now, when you say "straddle and ride the dragon"...
(Bolts from thread before getting lunched.)
One trick is you only need to worry about what's facing the viewer. No need to pose unseen items so they are exact or proper. It can be very technically wrong but if it looks good from the angle you render at, that's all you need. That goes out the window if you're doing animation.
Right on.
Star Trek 2009 (the movie) has a scene with the Enterprise coming out of warp behind Titan and rising through the rings of Saturn. Some science people pointed out that this scene was improperly sized/scaled. But the movie-going public didn't care because it's a great scene.
We should try to get things right. When they matter to the story being told.
Carefully especially if they have spines ........
In Soviet D|S, DRAGON RIDES YOU!
To the OP's question, so much will depend on just how big the dragon is in your scene.
Dragons come in LOTS of sizes, and even with a consistent source to reference, not everyone agrees just how big they're supposed to be:
Some dragons, you can ride them at the base of their neck with your legs positioned in front of their wings; others, you'd have to straddle them in their lumbar region with your legs behind their wings; while still others, it's advisable to just find a spinal ridge or spike and try to make yourself comfortable as best you can---
---but trying to ride a fire lizard would be just f**king cruel!
I did an animation on that premise
Donkey in Shrek?
Here's another example dragon riding pose:
It's a custom pose done years ago using older models, but to me it made more sense to hold onto the neck given the relative sizes.
One thought is to start with poses that get you somewhat close (perhaps a horse riding pose) and then tweak it. Start positioning the hip how you want it and work your way down the heirarchy.
Also. photo references helps alot, too. In this case I remember using jockeys as a reference for the figure, and a puppy sitting as a reference for the dragon.

Here I think I just used a horse riding pose then tweaked it to work with the Dragon
I really like that composition! It looks like a DreamWorks (or whatever is currently Disney's biggest competitor) production.
