This Sunday https://digitalartlive.com/event/visual-narratives-workshop-2/
Sunday September 29 @ 8:00 pm - 9:30 pm BST USA, East Coast is 3 PM -> 4:30PM

The Visual Narratives Workshop is an open and free workshop for all digital artists and is part of the event programme for our new Visual Narratives Academy.
Creating an illustrative narrative is a challenging and yet fulfilling project. There’s a large amount of creative elements to consider!
This workshop allows you to connect with similar creative minds, discovering tips, workflows, challenges and successes.
Amongst other subjects we could talk about:-
- Lighting
- Scripting
- The background of your visual story
- Character artwork
- Composition
- Workflows
- Panel design
- Layout
- Text
- Speech bubbles
- Inking
- Cover artwork
- Where to sell or distribute your art
During this webinar session I would like to encourage you to:-
- Show some of your current artwork to the group. Tell us about what inspired you for your work.
- Share a current challenge where you need help to progress
- Share at least one tip or solution that could help other artists
It’s not mandatory to do the above, if you’d rather just hang with other digital artists in the room and meet like minded creatives, you’re welcome to do this as well!
You’ll have the option to share your desktop in our webinar, so you can talk about your content or artwork in this way. This will be the easiest way to share your work.
You can register free to enter the webinar (standard registration), though if you’d like to have the webinar HD quality recording then use the premium registration.
This webinar is driven by YOU, the artist. The more artists that share a challenge or tip, then the more value that can be gained by other artists.

This ended up being interesting, even though I overslept and missed the first bit.
Part 1 was helpful. I'm looking for to part 2!
Thank you. I've got some goodies up the sleeve.

Visual Story Writing : From Inception to Production
Drew Spence, comic creator shares his experience on story writing for your 3D art using Daz Studio. This two part tutorial set runs for 3 hours and 24 minutes in total.
Every road trip requires a map to prevent the driver getting lost along the way. Similarly the crafting of any well told story for a visual narrative is potentially a long road trip!
On the way you may find some diverting stops and detours. You might even change your mind about the final destination.
But if you are wandering aimlessly without a plan, your passengers (or readers) will eventually get tired, hungry and grumpy. They’ll think again before going on a road trip with you.
Without a proper map there is no answer to the question, “Are we there yet?”
High quality stories tell you plainly when you have arrived at the destination. Don’t leave your passengers guessing about whether you’re getting close.
Stories have deliverable payoff points- just like like the signs along a highway counting down the miles until you’ve reached your destination. They give you a sense of scale and a growing anticipation that the end is nearing.
Part I Creating Your Story from Inception to Production (tutorial 1)
Part II Caring for your story (tutorial 2)
Part III Closing out your story, taking breaks and exit points. (tutorial 2)
