What figure is in the martian Princess promos?

  • I did a fit test some time ago on G3 or G8 (don't remember) and used iray metal and gem shaders on the non cloth peices. As mentioned previously, when using autofit, any hanging cloth or pieces that extend from the figure do not do well. I have picked up SY helper for V4 clothes, just haven't tested it with this outfit yet.

I notice you have a few bits of the bead strings there not quite connecting. I had the same issue when I tried to convert the outfit. Does anyone have suggestions to fix this? Could one of the dedicated clothes converters do a better job?

Just curious, were you trying to "AutoFit" the paldrons and draping cape elements, thus resulting in problems?  Even for the intended figure, Victoria 4, Gareee cautioned that piece as well as the "crown" should be "parented" to the chest and head respectively, not "conformed".

    Sincerely,

I've used the Martian Princess outfit several times on dialspun V4 characters. I agree about the classic Frazetta look of the outfit. IIRC, there are multiple material zones that allow for textures, shaders, etc. to be applied to different parts. Haven't tried it on recent generations, but that's worth a go. I would recommend getting it.

  • I can never seem to figure out how old these threads are. But I've seen the Redfern A3 as Dejah piece a long time ago. I even dropped it into my folder of art that my screensaver flits through to give me cool art to look at when I'm stumped for what I want to do for so long the screensaver kicks in. Sometimes a piece will kick my muse into gear with an idea. I think I have noted that the rings around her forearms are also from the Melody costume for A3/Melody that the collar came from. And yeah, I have the Martian Princess for V4 costume and still use parts of it. Especially the shoulder pauldrons and capes. I don't have the V4 to G8 converter, just the A3/H3 and the V4 to G2, and G2 to G8 ones. Again with the Melody costume, the skirt would have to be parented to the hip or pelvis. Probably the latter now - as fitting it would turn the skirts into a horror fest.

The rest of the notes people wrote were fascinating.

I think I should mention that in "Princess" John says he feels like he's always been at war, and has no idea how old he is. Yet there is the connundrom of the conciet that ERB is his nephew which suggests he has a perfectly ordinary sibling (sister?). But sticking with that earlier note it seems possible that John himself isn't an Earth Human. If it weren't for his lack of ability to project emotions like other Martians one could conjecture that he was actually a Thern translocated to Earth somehow. I'm imagining a Thern scientist and his wife launching a nineth-ray rocket from Mars to Earth to save their son when they realize that Mars is dying. . . ;)

There is also the conjecture that life on Earth is extra-terestrial. So lets suppose that all life in our solar system is derived from life started on another planet in the system and then translocated to the other worlds. Then it's not entirely far-fetched to assume that all near-humans are evolved from a common ancestor. Just adapted to their new world.

Aww...!  I'm flattered you found my selection worthy enough to add to your screensaver slideshow!

Yes, you are correct, the "ting" around her neck (not the "choker") as well as the circlets upon her forearms, and the hair come from the "Harmony" set meant for Aiko 3 and particularly "Melody for A3" (modeled in such a way as not not "clip" the feline ears).  I saimply selected particular material zones to turn "invisible" to (hopefully) creatre a distinctively different look.  The delicate upper arm bands came from a vvintage Japanese freebie called "Benten".  It's still available at ShareCG.

Anyway, here's another selection with the same wardrobe arrangement with Aiko 3 standing within Petipet's "Atlantida Temple" and props.  I altered the material presets for a custom arrangement in the "bronze/brass/gold" range.  I also hid the Egyptian inspired sigil above the throne for a sphere I mapped with the patterns Persival Lowell thought he saw on Mars.  Basivcally, I turned the setting into a palace within the Kingdom of Helium.
